College will kill you. Seriously. You're dead.

However I do know one airhead in our college. She has said a good number of retarded things, and skips classes. One class she asked how to do something, even though the teacher JUST explained it. Another time she asked a really stupid question (I can't remember what it was), the teacher stared at her, dumfounded, and said to her "are you seriously THAT thick?"

Hmm, and generally the Visual Arts kids are a lot more sophisticated than any of the other programs next to Liberal Arts. My Digital Imaging class is terrible, they blast 3 Days grace while watching CSI Miami all class. I have no real friends in the whole program because none of them are like me. All my friends are in visual or social science.

Terry's the guy that walks around with a breifcase and a trenchcoat everywhere. He's a nice guy if you talk to him but people constantly make fun of him which is the lowest thing anybody can do.

Scared? Try making a living on your own without any support from anybody for the first time. I moved out when I graduated, but I was excited and not really scared. Enjoy college, it's going to be much easier than the real world.

Eh. "The real world" is really just "when life sucks." It's no more real than when life is great. Not everyone experiences both.

College is good for not being bored with just a job. Oh shit I have to register for my classes.

college is a toss-up

it's fun, you have lots of oppurtunities to good friends, ones that appreciate interesting music, art, films, etc

however, now that i'm feeling the mindnumbing debt of student loans it makes part of me think that i should have taken engineering or computers or something else that people actually will give you a job for having a degree in and been one of the dorky types who stayed in their rooms on saturday nights.

however that part of me is kind of a douche.

schizophrenicroom 06.27.2006 01:59 AM

contort- any major can promise you a job. if you like what you're studying, you're bound to find something. as long as you're in a good program and you like it. for instance, being in a good art history program, or something artsy that makes parents die when you announce you want to spend four years and a 100 grand/years of loan-paying studying, that you'll get a degree from is better than going to a shitty business school and end up being in a field you hate.

contort:myself 06.27.2006 02:13 AM

not psychology

i can tell you from experience

no but really i don't regret it, i just wish coming from a lower class and going to a state university it wouldn't still put me over 20 g's in debt
and being i've spent the week being turned down by temp agencies i might be in a deeper cynical mood than normal....

but yeah, college is good for turing people into good-taste possessing non-douches, which is important in our very douche-centric society

Norma J 06.27.2006 02:15 AM

Go to college, be a man - whats the fucking deal? It's not how old I am - its how old I feel.

krastian 06.27.2006 02:25 AM

^Ha, I was going to post that too....first thing I thought of.

I don't like the idea of being around people who are only decent because they went to college.
