agreed. I just finished reasoning with my step popz about this.. that there is no devil or satan, that the devil is our own shortcomings.. I-man do not blame the devil for any of my own mistakes, I own up to my own decisions good and bad.. even Job said,"What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?" The Devil is ourselves.. there is no duality, strictly positive vibrations combined with opportunities which seem negative but are in fact learning opportunities.. |
^ that's very Catholic

really? I would think that romish christianity used the devil as its cop-out mechanism like most christians.. in the Tewahedo they blame demons and bad spirits on everything, in fact traditional Ethiopian christianity ascribes that there are no such things as good and bad people, just good and bad spirits (ie, saints/angels and demons/duppies) who influence the decisions and actions of human beings.. I personally do not believe this, I am ultra-Christian, if Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, and God died on the Cross to bind any kind of devil, then there are no longer any devils to plague humanity. My Christology says that since Christ came, we are responsible for ourselves and our own decisions, we have no one to blame for our mistakes but ourselves.. ![]() ahh, caravaggio.. it took me twenty minutes to find this painting but it was well worth it.. I love renaissance christian art, it is so much more expressive than iconography, a kind of non-religious religiosity, using religious themes to express more universal human emotions.. (and to keep on topic, here is some more of that fantastic Raphael Saadiq performance Love that Girl |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_sin Though many Catholics also believe in the devil. Catholicism, in my understanding, really has a large volume of various interpretations that, at times, compliment or contradict each other. I really see this as a result of its apostolic/missionary nature. But "Catholic guilt" is certainly more traditionally Catholic than a lot of more "born again" influenced new shit going round. |
i watched this show on national geographic last night about the rapture
pretty interesting shit, apparently the rapture is not even in the bible |
Rapture is the great white flight into the sky.
|
yeah
i dont remember what all they said on the show i was falling asleep |
I like the fact that she has no avatar it adds to the mystery
the legend that is Satan. Allows one to have one's own fantasy.... for me I sort have this evil repunzel thing going on |
Raphael Saadiq is probably the most under-rated songwriter/performer of the 1990's. But I don't feel like talking about it right now.

no its not, and many christians do not regard it at all. In orthodoxy there is no such thing, Baptists ridicule other protestants for believing in it.. for many christians the rapture is a way to judge other people in a holier than thou moment.. fuck that. I myself despire the concept of a rapture, where some folks are miraculously spared and others doomed to torture and suffering.. I do not like the idea of such a vindictive God or destiny.. I believe in equality, its all or nothing. |
