Bob Marley wrote a protest song called "Zimbabwe" and three years later he performed it at the first Zimbawean Independence Day celebration in 1980, that is almost mythical!

Now do you get the idea?

Think of artists that have brought about some kind of change, and it can be good or bad..

who else dethroned Michael Jackson? Nirvana was like the Beatles, they REVOLUTIONIZED the mainstream music business, changing the perspective of what the suits would sell us. They used to sell us what THEY wanted to hear, after Nirvana there was a revival of selling us what WE wanted to hear.

well, drop Elvis and I agree with you entirely! Marley gave voice to actual revolution worldwide, and MJ gave us a soundtrack we could universally dance too and in small way mutually understand each other on at least the common ground of mass-market commercialism ;)
