You think THAT'S beautiful:

alyasa 07.01.2006 07:19 AM

Fuck, that's disgusting. Is that a real race?

Hip Priest 07.01.2006 07:21 AM

It has a certian engineered, municipal prettiness. Note the route; Oxton is where I live (just off Borough Road, as it happens). I've been on that bus. THe No6 route was one of the original routes run by the Birkenhead Corporation. Those are the original Birkenhead Corporation livery colours. It's a Leyland Titan. I'm a bit sad. OK, quite a lot sad. Almost to the point of nerdiness. Almost?

Yeah - I take part evey year. In that picture I'd just come second and was a bit disgusted with myself.

alyasa 07.01.2006 07:25 AM

I take it that guy was the first-placed?

Hip Priest 07.01.2006 07:26 AM

Sorry, is what a real race? Is there supposed to be a picture in Pookie's post, after the colon? I'm not getting one!

(at first, I thought alyasa was calling the Leyland Titan disgusting!).

alyasa 07.01.2006 07:27 AM

Believe me, ignorance is bliss...

Hip Priest 07.01.2006 07:29 AM

It's happy days here then.

alyasa 07.01.2006 07:30 AM

Fuck no, leylands are vintage, classic.

Hip Priest 07.01.2006 07:33 AM

Without Pookie's photo, it reads:

Me: Leyland Titan, 'beautiful'
Pookie: you think THAT's beautiful
alyasa: F***, that's disgusting.

Now can you see it? You're not getting off the hook that easily.

Hip Priest 07.01.2006 07:37 AM

No. If I try to quote you, the photograph address shows up in the quote box, but no picture's showing up in the thread.

alyasa 07.01.2006 07:41 AM

In the immortal words of Kim Gordon, "click on it".

It just wasn't meant to be! Back to vintage buses.

I like the Portsmouth Corporation no. 8, a 1935 TD4 with English Electric body, an open-top Leyland. I just copied that from a book. (You probably won't be able to see this picture either):

No, I can't unfortunately. I'd rather like to, though. I even tried copying the address and going straight there, but with no luck. Such is life.
