like what? I'm not sure I get your point. |
in Spanish (only other language I speak) curse words are not as malleable as in English. They ussually mean what they mean and it is difficult to be creative in new meaning implication. In english, you can make any word mean something nasty
In Spanish it is more about the double entendre, the pun, the sounds of the curse in yr ear. hard to explain. |
I probably swear too often but can usually withhold when needed.
|
i speak spanish, i know what you mean. i think in english it's more about the context, you can go mel gibson on someone or you can say SON OF A BITCH when you ash in your eye and it's funny for some reason
|
and I hate puns
|
 Puns are absolutely hilarious!
|
Have you heard my relatives punnin' it up in Spanish? NOT FUNNY

I've always viewed it as an extension of one's vocabulary.
Let's look at an example: Person 1 says: "ouch, I burned my hand!" Person 2 says: "FUCKING SHIT, I JUST BURNED MY HAND!" As for me personally, I'm much more likely to run to the aid of person 2. At least quicker than I would person 1. |
I was thinkin' about makin' a simlair thread today...though it was about cussing in public. I don't think it's bad...but i do believe there be a time when to do it and not to do it.
|
nah you shouldn't cuss
|
fuck you for asking such a question :P
don't hurt me |
Of course it is bad. Would you cuss when it was cute? Would it make any sense?
