It was released as a single as a result of fan demand.

The b-side of that 12" has two tracks; one is an instrumental called 'Oscillate Wildly'. I've always considered it to justify the purchase on its own.

Oscillate Wildly is indeed mega.The riff of 'How Soon is Now' was inspired by johnny Marr trying to play like Bo Diddley.

They play the video on this one VH1 channel we get pretty often.

The girl in it didn't have a clue what she was in for.I also love the ones that Derek Jarman directed and specifically the one for 'There is a light that never goes out' with that burning car loop.

I remember 'How Soon is Now' was used in an TV advert, for Pepe jeans I think. They were a desperately trendy brand at the time, I recall.

It was rather like suddenly hearing The Fall on that car advert not so long ago. One isn't entirely sure how to feel.

In Probe Records they sell framed photographs taken at gigs (£30 or so each, mind) and one is of MES in that wheelchair.

I did a youtube search to see if the old advert was there. It isn't, but there is a modern one for Pepe Jeans featuring the well-known footballer and winker, Christiano Ronaldo.

Didn't bother watching it.

In fact i'm now sure that i have read it on the NME.It was either the first or second part of their most recent Morrisey feature.

Yeah my little sister was playing that a few years ago and I was like what the fuck is this shit.....she said Oh I love this song it's the best song on the album. Of course it is it's by The Smiths God damn it.
