Fai enough. It makes me laugh more than anything else in existence, so that just goes to show that it takes all sorts, eh?

But I'm still flabbergasted.

I once had Stewart Lee stood behind me bleating on about Pink Floyd while I was trying to watch Yo La Tengo. For that alone, they're not included. And they're not funny.

As for Pasquale & Walsh? Have you not seen Corrie and The Price Is Right? Their pairing may have been brief, but being apart can't hold them back.

Toilet & Bowels 08.09.2006 06:48 PM

joe pasquale has a reputation for stealing jokes from small time comedians. he allegedly employs people to go out and watch lesser known comedians and write down all their jokes, he then incorporates what he finds suitable into his act.

anyway, stewart lee is one of the best stand ups i've ever seen, if not the best. i've never seen another comedian with such a grasp of what makes humour work as he does.

He didn't steal the squeaky voice did he?

Couldn't knock Bradley Walsh though could you?

You're not related to Stewart Lee are you?

Toilet & Bowels 08.09.2006 07:01 PM

no, he's just one of my favourite comedians. one of my friends used to work with him though and apparently he a very decent chap.

Shit. How the hell has it happened that I'm the only person to have voted for Morecambe and Wise? What's with you people?

porkmarras 08.10.2006 03:31 AM

Too damn right.

porkmarras 08.10.2006 03:46 AM

Chris morris or Armando iannucci are even better than Stewart Lee and in a way scarier if such a thing can be said about comedy.Stewart Lee is definately one of the nicest men who ever worked here at the National.

sonicl 08.10.2006 04:05 AM

I take it that you're watching the new Armando Iannucci thing on BBC2? Excellent stuff.

porkmarras 08.10.2006 04:08 AM

Nah i've missed that as i tend to watch very little tv at the moment.Have you ever seen the armando iannucci show?It should be out on dvd this year but i got it on ebay from someone who converted vhs to dvd.Insanely surreal.Oh and what about Julia Davis(i'll never get tired of promoting her)?

fishmonkey 08.10.2006 04:08 AM

The early shows, and the Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, I love (especially the docu thing in the nightclub). And I liked Catterick a lot too - thought it kept getting better as the series went on. But Shooting Stars and that recent sketch show leave me cold.

They're both very funny though especially Bob.

porkmarras 08.10.2006 06:40 AM

French and Saunders are awful. So unfunny it's unbelievable.Almost as unfunny as Peter Kay.

sonicl 08.10.2006 07:07 AM

Victoria Wood and Julie Walters. An excellent double act for those of us approaching our pipe and slippers age.

porkmarras 08.10.2006 07:18 AM

Julie Walters is the female comedian of choice for a huge amount of gays.
