Did you accidentally step on it or sit on it?
|
Did you pour a drop of liquid onto it?
|
Maybe you had it perched precariously on the edge of your bed and you moved for some reason (eg to scratch your ear) and it toppled onto the laminate flooring of your parent's attic room?
|
Did you knock the screen with a heavyish object such as a hardback book or an LP box set?
|
Tried that. No workie. Will give it another shot tomorrow.

how'd teh screen get like that? |
I picked it up, turned it on and it was like that.
I should mention that there are no visible CRACKS but it's just a mesh of pixels. |
does it have an hdmi output? if so, use your tv.
also: find a big enough backpack to hold your tv for extra convenience!!! |
post pix or it didn't happen. ps try another monitor it might be yr gfx crd or equiv? yo.
|
My TV can't handle anything like that but my sister's can so I'll try that tomorrow.
|
Play some Final Fantasy.
|
alright so you didn't do anything to break it. I get that. But why are there cracks in the screen?

although that pic you posted clearly looks like trauma to the crystal matrix, as she (I) mentioned, bad gfx cards can shit out dead pixels. if you are having trouble connecting to another monitor, that is a distinct possibility (and likely covered under warranteeeeheeeheeee). |
My theory, gremlins got to it. you know how they love Christmas time.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Sell it to an art gallery as a cubist nightmare.

My mom's previous computer ended up with its screen looking almost exactly like this; this was due to her leaving earbuds against the screen which somehow blew up liquid crystals. it may be due to something like this?
