Yeah, I guess the thread is pretty odd. I just wanted to see other people's collections.

Sounds like you got yours real organized Hip P. I plan to sort mine soon. Probably group the authors together since most of my stuff is fiction.

I'd also like to get some non-fiction history type books. Don't really know where to start. I want to get something on Napoleon, but I'd also like to read about the periods of music, Barouqe, Classical, Romantic..

here are my shelves...

we have a room dedicated as a library which holds all the books, half the CD's, some of the vinyl and none of the DVDs. The books are kind of organised: Art books, text books, non-fiction then fiction. The CDs are by spoken word, classical, jazz, world, hip-hop and rock then all are alphabetical and chronological.

Mine is more of a stack than an acutal book shelf. Nothing special, just some Dr. Seuss and an Edgar Allan Poe book.

Alright, I'm not the biggest reader, so I have a small collection. I usually just borrow from friends. I am buying more lately tho since most of them are outta town and I have a job again.
I'm in trainspotting right now and loving it. It's cool becuz right before that one I was reading a clockwork orange. I need to find another book written in dialect/fake-language next/.

I'm a big proponent of public libaries. Sort of a waste of paper to buy new books when you can get them from the library.

It's not actually messy (in the sense that it'ssorted into section), but yes, I need more space to neaen things up. Half the problem is the varying sizes of books and all he related ephemera that I collect too. The plan is to have nice shelves put all the way up that wall.
