Try the book "Dance of Days: Two Decades of Punk in the Nation's Capital" by Mark Andersen and Mark Jenkins (http://www.akashicbooks.com/danceofdays.htm). Only the last fifth or so of the book is Riot Grrrl related, but the whole book is an excellent read, and it also gives Riot Grrrl some much-needed context.
