Under-valued? Maybe that was true in the 70s. Everyone, and I mean everyone, I know who is into music at a slightly deeper level than buying records they saw on an advert on TV loves the Velvets. My mother has a copy of s/t. My Dad listens to the best of in the car. I think the 'most underappreciated' schtick is getting very tiresome at this point in history. They are still good (in parts), and although they aren't universally known like the Beatles or whoever, they are known to a hell of a lot of people. Now, the Monks, there's an under appreciated band. Or Michael Yonkers (thanks Drone).
