It rules. It rules so much. It has brought back my love of the Youth from the deep chasm of mourning I have been in ever since their dissolution was announced.
That folk bullshit they have been putting out does not do it for me. THIS DOES. It strokes my sonic cock and then BITES DOWN HARD Fucking Kim sounds amazing on it, and all the classic skronk is there, and plainly obvious that the Youth could coax every sound you hear on BMR or CIS out of their guitars at will. so awesome. I highly recommend it, especially to fans of the aforementioned Bad Moon Rising. It is killer. Steve had just joined the band and given a 20-something level of juice to the band. Great great stuff. If only the Youth could release a live concert from each tour... that would rule all. |
yeah it's great. bought it after randomly finding it in a record store today (forgot it was coming out) and i'm really into it. which was to be expected as bmr remains my favourite album, but the fact that this is one of the only "rock" album i have bought in a while - bar that micachu album - weighs in. it's really great hearing those versions, + kat n hat. steve's drumming on ghost bitch is absolutely crazy. the fade-in from the first recording to the second in the course of the first track is amazing too - reminds me of sonic death.
anyways - great stuff |
cool to hear the scream tape on flower, too
|
It surprises me that there don't seem to be many fans of Crucifucks on this board. It surprises me and saddens me. Steve is one of the greatest drummers in the world so he should get all the love he deserves.

was about to ask "where do i begin with them" and then you answered the question before i could even ask it. thanks. thanks.
|
(that said, steve's drumming is indeed always great. and the finest example of that is BULL IN THE HEATHER.)

![]() This is the album you definitely need to know. Also Our Will Be Done will provide you with pretty much all you need to know about this band. |
Google Doc Dart's name and start having fun. A curious man.
|
will check these out, thanks. i need to listen to more of that kind of stuff
|
he hung a banner calling all US Soldiers terrorists outside his little suburban house didnt he? I was just trying to find the piece that described that
|
This is the one, i think. Crucifucks were exceptional

rob, you still mad about Murray St? That was a decade ago. Get over it, guy. |
Talkin bout thurston's and lee's solo stuff from last 2 years.
|
lest ye not forget SYR9 circa 2011.
|
folk. pshaw
might as well go listen to mumford & sons |

Lee's record was actually good though. Thirston's demolished thoughts can lick my peen. That shit was boring... I'm afraid of thurston's solo set this Saturday...unless he plays a lot of trees outside the academy. Now THATs an acoustic album... |
Quote:
you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. |
I know what it means. I am using it as a derogatory term encompassing any acoustic non-distorted music. it's my prerogative as a skronk fan do-or-die.
|
then I don't think you gave a focused listen to SYR9. It was skronky. ANd it rocked.
