Everyone saying Joss Whedon, I say no. Back in 2005 "Serenity" came out. A movie heavily influenced by "Star Wars". That same year "Revenge of the Sith" came out. With "Serenity" there is no reason for Whedon to direct a "Star Wars" movie when he already made a 'star wars' movie and did it better then the guy who gave us "Star Wars".

all that shit sucks anyway.

It's better than good. I'd suggest watching the one and only season of Firefly first, but you don't have to.

watch firefly first. firefly is better than serenity. firefly is fucking great and serenity was made to give the series an ending because it was stupidly cancelled (you can find out about all that when listening to the firefly commentary).
