now this is a ny band that is really obscure. produced by john cale. i am very excited to hear it. it wasn't easy to find, i had to kill a couple fifty-year old punks to get it.

real neo no wave bands:

real lost no wave bands:

the gynecologists
red transistor
static
theoretical girls (kinda really)
terminal
tone death

By the very definition of No Wave, you can't have "real" neo-No Wave bands. You list several great groups that are influenced by No Wave to be sure, but No Wave requires a refusal of influences.

If that's how you feel, why did you refer to them as "real"? "Real" means nothing if you don't believe in some sort of absolutes.

i found a copy of the Y PANTS record a few years ago, and was thoroughly underwhelmed. i dunno, maybe i should listen again, but it didn't strike me as good.
