Coffee is rubbish compared to tea and it gives you bad guts.

A well done espresso is a marvelous stimulant, and a rich capuccino or even latte is a delicious drink...not that fake shit from the Carlye Group's Dunkin Donuts or the sugarinfested Starbucks. BUt when the espresso comes out almost like a syrup, and the steamed foam is gently layered into the espresso, oh man that is good. A poseur is gonna be a poseur with or without his latte.

The Tasmanian Peaberry is supposed to have the highest levels of caffeine.

I like a HOT..rich, thick brew.....muddy with half and half and Turbinado brown sugar. I like various countries beans...Indonesian and African are my favorites. They actually do have differences in flavor from region to region and the roasting techniques. I like a dark roast, powerful and gripping.

I drink a couple of cups in the morning and rarely, but on occasion later in the day. I don't mind spending a few bucks on it as it's such a cherished pleasure. A good sugaree-ass donut goes well with my cuppa.

Famous nun-bun from my favorite coffee shop, Bongo Java, in Nashville.

The story ....

The only peril I know is not being able to get your coffee fix.

Coffee has this whole stigma that I love. I love hiding behind some ladeda drink of the hard working common folk image. I love a cup in the morning to get me going and it's the most wonderful thing in the world to choose between mocha and latte and cappachino and expresso, come on, admit it.. It's a load of pompus shite, and I love it. It sure beats a good cuppa tea. I like coffee in the morning and coffee in the afternoon, is that coffee in the afternoon, you say?? If it were not for coffee, many things would never get done. Some of the greatest leaders in the world have gotten things done because of coffee. Coffee is for doers, tea is for slackers. Is that coffee in the afternoon, you say? Ja, ja, sehr gutt... more coffee, Mein Fuhrer? Coffee also makes my brain work better.

I'm drinking a cup right now. I need to watch how much I have though so that I don't go into some sort of caffeine haze. I drank so much once that I felt like I was getting a caffeine hangover.

What's with certian people going on about Starbucks? I don't buy from Starbucks. I drink bottled water too, but I don't drink bottled water made by Coca-Cola.

Of course its the corporate thing. However, when no ma & pa coffee shops are around I go to Starbucks. Their coffee is better than 7-11 or truckstop brew.

I like to add contrast to the typical Starbuckster......

Norma J 12.20.2006 08:13 PM

Yeah, I know they were referring to capitalism. But I don't know why people relate coffee to Starbucks. It doesn't even come into my mind. I don't even consider buying from there.

I'm having a coffee now. Hmm hmm.

I never ever go to the place, it sickens me. Even if I wanted to, the prices are abso-fucking-lutely ridiculous.

Norma J 12.20.2006 08:22 PM

I rarely buy food out.

k-krack 12.20.2006 08:25 PM

I indulge too much... Though, me and a friend made a New Years resolution/pact to cut down significantly on fast-food/junk.

Norma J 12.20.2006 08:29 PM

If I buy food out, it's never junk/fast food.

But yes, you should cut back. Good for you, marn.

EMMAh 12.20.2006 09:42 PM

I drink coffee occasionally. A couple years ago I would drink insane amounts of coffee at a time and I'd take caffeine pills. What a loser I was...
I'm all about french vanillas.

Yeah, that's my trouble with it. I had to give it up years ago, though I still swoon at the smell. Thankfully, Hagen Daz coffee ice cream doesn't seem to hit me as hard. I've learned to love green tea though, and it probably helps my immune system and all that crap too.

against_the_grain 12.20.2006 11:35 PM

I can't stand liquor in my coffee......yuck !
