yeah i know what you mean. over here it is in "B class or C class" i'm not sure, but there are some voices to reclassify it back to A. from my point of view, i'll never consider pot to A group no matter what. on the other hand....pot can lead you to experiment with some other stuff, which can be dangerous in some cases...it's hard to say and it's polemic.

If Thurston doesn't smoke weed to this day I'd be very surprised.

First of all, SY don't do heavy drugs. Thurston, Kim and Lee have done drugs before. Of that I am sure. Don't know about Stevo. Thurston's smoked pot (Motta to Watt), and done some hallucinogens in New York when he was younger at a Television concert or something like that. He said he could see trails of music. Trippy as hell. Kim has done acid at Disney, which is a terrible idea, it's way too over stimulating. And Lee is/used to be a stoner. You can see a failry recent picture of him holding a roach and looking really stoned. He has also commented that while they were on tour in Europe, they had smoked hashish. Plus he is a former Dead Head (need I say more)? There is also a drug reference to smoking hash in Mind of the Bourgiousie Reader ("pass it around or stick it on a pin"). Beyond that, I sincerley doubt that they have done any hard drugs such as heroin or other opiates. They are not drug addicts or abusers. They all have families now. They can still have a good time, but they're not kids anymore. They have their careers and families to think of. The good ol' days of partying it up are gone. It's the era of responsibilty now for SY. But I know they can still cut loose when need be. They just now how to be responsible with their consumption.

i've heard that rumour before that kim used to be on smack... have to say i didn't give it much creedence... interesting to see that other people have heard that rumour... also interesting to hear they were using coke as late as 92... i thought it may have just been an 80s thing when they were a bit younger and more brash... i wonder when the last time they used was... i'd imagine it would be quite a performance enhancing drug (musical performance i mean)... i've tried coke a fair few times but have always wanted to take some before playing guitar... it's something i haven't experimented with enough, drugs and musical creation...

In my opinion, thats what drugs are good fo, or why i decided to experement. ^^ Musical creation. Ive smoked weed many o time, and it makes playing guitar so much easier, enjoyable, and better sounding.

I heard the owner of Low-Yo-Yo's Stuff Records in Athens, GA chatting with Steve's wife, laughing about how Steve always tells him to "Bring a fatty," when they meet. Lee was planning on smoking a joint with a friend of mine in LA a couple of years ago, but he didn't have time before soundcheck or some thing like that. That's all I know personally about the subject. End.
