im not too indie...that was just awful///i enjoy some blink-182 stuff just for fun...hell, last night i couldnt stop whistling that 'buddy holly' song by weezer....nothing wrong with catchy, but some bands just suck, such as this 'paramore' and MCR and fall out boy, these bring me no joy whatsoever, not even as a novelty, 50 cent is more fun as a novelty...like someone said before, avril lavigne is much cuter than this girl anyway, with a better voice too...

Washing Machine 06.02.2007 05:18 AM

I can understand not liking a song like that, I can undertstand the idea it might be boring. But when people are so hypobolic in their dislike for something that inoffensive. I find it funny thats all. Of course people now will claim it actually is offensive and that her voice hurts their ears and blah, blah.

Anyway... We can all enjoy the pictures (and with out sound)

....EMO BOY HAIR....LOL

Now those boys' hair is 'awful'.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 06.02.2007 05:50 AM

ehmm...

no.

soapbars 06.02.2007 09:46 AM

you say its inoffensive and maybe it is to your parents but honestly i find piss weak pop rock novelty sock crap to be offensive. i like music with substance and power, and although i can see that you mean, music of a strong powerful persuasion in any direction will always be dividing opinions/offending, and that anything weaker shouldnt have that effect, but when you judge music purely on expression, engery and other such bullshit things, you cant help but hate that sort of shit,

i dont like to disrespect anyones musical tastes and i have no doubt you listen to much better stuff than her, i just dont like throwaway artists

Yeah thats not my musical taste by a long shot. Basically I heard them because I was dragged by one of my friends to a The Full Ponty festival near where I live (to give you a clue of the type of gig this was - The LostProphets headlined). Now in these situations you either act like a miserable twat that is above this inferior music or you just enjoy it for what it is.

Thats how I feel about this kinda music the odd song is a bit of fun. And I just put it up because i thought she was hot, and then people started evaluating the music in such a serious manner.

I used to be really against this 'throwaway' music when i was younger but now I just dont care enough about it to provoke that strong an emotion. We will do what we wanna do and just let the pop musicians make throwaway pop music. Its not worth spending such strong emotions on. I guess I fail to understand why people took the music so seriously. Its not Funhouse, its not OK Computer and its Daydream Nation so what...

by god, she's truly annoying. i hate her poses.

i don't get why you need everybody else to like her. enjoy what you like. but when you ask for our agreement or approval, well...

she's fucking annoying. strangulation, once again, is what i recommend.

I still think she's super pretty. But why go into the music business when the pornography business would get you further?

the difference is im not at some shit festival with my none the wiser friends, im in my house doing whatever i want and it seems pointless while im here by myself to find the good in mediocre music because thatd be the bigger thing to do,

i can listen to the music i want,

i can see that this isnt the end of the world and im not actually pissed off at it or anything i dont hate it, but why would i choose to listen to it when i have the choice of anything else.

you post a thread on an internet forum with something like that and didnt expect the responses you got, you got pretty much the routined cliches id expect, my posts included.

some pop music is fucking incredible and i love it dealy, i dont want to be seen as the kind of guy, whos walking around preaching the greatness of rock against anything else,

im not bothered and im fully aware that alot of pop artists make throwaway music and thats just part of the world and it doesnt affect or bother me, but if you bring that onto a music forum expect people to give their opinions on it,

nothing ive said is intended to be a personal attack towards you, dont take it so seriously when people slag off bands like this.

I roffled.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 06.02.2007 02:33 PM

yeah, shes cute, but I'm not digging her voice much, singing wise.

Torn Curtain 06.02.2007 03:51 PM

Not my type at all. As others said Avril Lavigne is way cuter.

LifeDistortion 06.02.2007 04:25 PM

Avril isn't cute in my opinon, but neither is this girl, her make-up, her stick figure, make her look like a heroin chic model , that's never been attractive in my eyes.

Actually Avril is cute when she doesn't wear tons of make-up:

See. i've said repeatly i have nothing against people disliking the song or the band and I can see why they would. I just fail to understand why people have such extreme opinions on something that doesnt really merit it. the band is not bad, awful, its just run-of-the-mill. Hell I dont even like the song anymore. It was fun for about 3 plays and thats it.

My point really has nothing to do with the music anymore its the hypobolic and insane reactions people have to what is nothing more than dishwater.

It was supposed to be a silly thread and everyone reacted to it in such a serious way.

Anyway lets stop going back to this.... Peace and Sonic Love to all.

davenotdead 06.02.2007 09:19 PM

haha, i didnt react in such a serious way...i said it only took 11 seconds for me to decide what the music was...thats not very much thought right there...

davenotdead 06.02.2007 09:21 PM

and torn, thats a very cute pic of avril...when she's not trying to do her 'punk' image thing (for awards shows/publicity/videos), she really is pretty cute...if i saw that^^ walking around in the mall, i'd look twice)

she does have cute hair, though.

And this is the reason to stay away from them? Just because they are popular with another group? I hate this reasoning. Don't get me wrong, I'll stay away from them; I don't like their sound, and the girl annoys me (although the latter isn't even a reason for not liking the group; Kurt Cobain annoys me. But Nirvana was better than this audible garbage). But I'm not going to shun a band because "they're a hit in the preppy cheerleader/jock/airhead community."

Judge music on the music, and nothing else.

pbradley 06.03.2007 08:18 AM

All that did was make me feel old. 21 going on 22 and she just came across as bratty to me. The problem being, however, that I don't see bratty attractive anymore (did I ever? I don't know).

And the vocal tempo was much too buzy. Guess that's what happens when kids don't smoke as much pot anymore... hyperactive bastards.

davenotdead 06.03.2007 08:30 AM

the thing is...i dont know....the girl isnt even that attractive...i mean, not so much that you completely ignore her lack of charm, originality, vocal talent, or lack of artistic creativity/vision...

why cant you just love Chan Marshall like everyone else does?

davenotdead 06.03.2007 08:37 AM

she is absolutely beyond indie-cute/hot girlish in this one...

'hey lets make coffee and get real stoned, and let's play a record too"

davenotdead 06.03.2007 08:46 AM

i cant stop....this happens sometimes...she becomes my favorite person for a day or two...i think she's one of the most if not the most genuine person in showbiz...her realism absolutely destroys me sometimes...i just want to sit down and talk with her in some rundown bar/coffeeshop in some hickass nowhere, georgia...

HECKLER SPRAY 06.03.2007 09:04 AM

I see what you mean.

davenotdead 06.03.2007 10:44 AM

well, her alcohol is gone...i dont know...she looks really healthy and happy right now, so im happy for her...she used to be one of those people who is hardly recognizable in different photos...now she's tan and thin and healthy-looking again...must be that Miami sunshine....though the Greatest is my least-favorite of her albums...oh well...i still have all of her old stuff, and now she's happy, so everyone wins...

yeah. she's clearly on ritalin.

Washing Machine 06.03.2007 06:24 PM

Okay I realised I was beginning to be serious on a rather light hearted thread myself. Thats why I quit. For some reason I just wanted to make myself understood. It seems like you were misunderstanding what I was trying get across. It perhaps sounded like I was trying to defend the band, which was not my intention. But whatever. I think people have to much against what Paramore stand for in the current musical climate to judge things as fairly as if they were unaware of the idea of Pop-Punk or Emo. You could argue that
what the band stand for (american teen social politics, superficiality) is unseperable from the the Art itself. I guess the bits I liked were mainly the petite and cute singer (im a guy sorry) and the melody. Particularly the guitar riff. Which was kinda cool. But that is reading to much into something that was designed for the kids to sing along to.

As for our beloved Ms Cat Power. She is one sexy goddess. Now her music I really like. Although Nico will always own my heart..

....Now who's being the Indie Bastard.
