I was hoping to get round the Tracy Pew problem by having Mick Harvey playing bass, which I think happened for a short while when Pew was in prison.

And Die Haut: Good call. I saw them on the tour that they did for Head On, where they took Kid Congo, Nick Cave, Blixa Bargeld, Alex Hacke, Lydia Lunch (?), Jeffrey Lee Pierce and Anita Lane along for the ride. What a fucking great line-up eh? Jeffrey Lee Pierce did a killer cover of of Stevie Wonder's "Uptight", which sadly doesn't seem to have been documented. If his corpse could somehow be resurrected then I'd love to see that line-up again, although hopefully not just re-hashing the same show.

And since we'll have got Jeffrey Lee Pierce to rise from the dead already, I may as well ask to see the Gun Club too.

Only if the show is like one of their early ones. I saw them touring to promote Darklands, and it was, well, rather dull.

Shit, this thread makes me feel like such an old man.

Didnt they use to play for,like,15 minutes and the crowds were violent and drunk?

Now that would be something. Ideally they wouldn't have aged since their 60's heyday, and they would play all their saddest, saddest songs. And you wouldn't get into the gig unless you were dressed like it was 1964.

Not officially. They are just on hiatus or whatever and spending time with their families. They'll be back.....yeah they'll back. At least for a DC show....he he.

The Scientists already have reformed, with the surviving members of the 1985 line-up. They play three shows in the UK this week, one headlining, one supporting Mudhoney, and ATP.

This is basically the only band that I can think of that would still make great music if they re-formed, or more appropriately came out of hiatus and bashed away on their instruments.
