I found it pretty trippy, nothing "whoa amazing", but still good enough. |
How much are you willing to pay? The Amoeba Records label on the front says $33... goddamn, why did I pay thirty bucks for this thing.
|
actually I guess I'd be better off with the pal version.... now it's 12£ on w.a.s.t.e. , I always forgot I have a visa electron card other than just a paypal account.
But I'm sure you'll make a positive "reassessing the most gigantic lying mouth of all times DVD" thread one day, don't sell it. |

from wikipedia:
Radiohead's new music has been characterized by the band as "almost embarrassingly minimal," "sparse with lots of bass," and, more recently, "lush", according to Stanley Donwood, who worked closely with them on the artwork of the new album. Yorke described the lyrical concept of the album as, "It's about that anonymous fear thing, sitting in traffic, thinking, 'I'm sure I'm supposed to be doing something else'... it's similar to OK Computer in a way. It's much more terrifying. But OK Computer was terrifying too – some of the lyrics were." sounds like they're still full of shit. |
yeah, not sure about "terrified", i think everyone laughed when he said, "her hitler hairdo makes me ill."

Hmm...

worst song on that album by miles....... ok computer is a great popular middle of the road album. hail to the theif is a much darker beast and i hope the new one is a bit fucked up. i liked what ive heard so far anyway. |

Well tastes differ... The only song I can't stand on the record is Electioneering. |
|
the worse song in ok computer is the tourist and it's mostly because it's very unmemorable.
|
I actually never liked that album version of No Surprises. Having heard the acoustic pre-release version with different lyrics (live at Planet Paradiso), that one was much more plain and striking.

mmmmmmmm in rainbows
what a great title too. and album cover. |
in rainbows has been growing on me lately. i was majorly bummed out by it at first, but as is usual for radiohead, theres a few brilliant songs on there (15 step, house of cards, nude), its just not as consistenly amazing as say, kid a or ok computer. i think i just like autechre, ambient drone-inspired radiohead, but this ablum is good shit i guess.

bodysnatchers!!!!!

I've really stopped my in rainbows listening run a while ago
guess it doesn't have much replayability power despite that it "grew on me" like apparently everyone else |
I listened to it a few times when it came out, hated it, listened to it with a few other people who hated it, and haven't had an urge to sit down and listen to it since. I tried to force myself to listen to it a few months ago to try to get into it but I was bored out of my mind by track three. I watched one of their music videos on OnDemand with this dude who loves every Radiohead album (though he hadn't had a computer at the time this came out and missed this album) and he said, "This is terrible." I think the worst assessment was from my girlfriend; Radiohead is her favorite band of all time and she said, "Um, this album sounds like they're not even trying. A good album to fall asleep to because it's so fucking boring!" I know one person in real life who likes this album, and even the best thing he can say about it is, "It isn't awful." It really makes me wonder. I live in a small town of 40,000 people but the musical tastes are SO opposite of the pitchfork dicksuckery you find most places on the internet. It can't just be my town, can it? Whatever can be said about Radiohead -- they're not "Experimenting" enough, they're back to their roots -- this album is still just BORING. I mean, I put on Kid A, Hail to the Thief, whatever, and I'm instantly.. I mean, those are good albums.. brilliance shines forth with almost every song... this album just seems completely thrown-together, from the shitty internet release to even the crappy title of the album. I mean, wait, this album ISN'T awful; it's just boring and mediocre in every way...
But if any of you guys like it, cool! I'm just saying: This isn't Vegas, and Radiohead isn't Elvis. |
In my humble opinion, the best Radiohead album since Kid A.
But if any of you guys don't like it, cool! |

I'm like many who think that Radiohead's star was shining the brightest w/, "OK Computer", & "Kid A", but I'm not like many for liking "Hail To The Thief", but It does seem to me that they got rather lazy w/ this album. But, when you hear them explain what went on in the studio, you have to give them their dues for actually making the "new" songs work on record. As they have said, when trying to make "In Rainbows", the task of transfering what they had been playing live, to studio was not working out well. So, in that aspect, I dig "In Rainbows". & the reason I say "lazy" is beacuse there was hardly any new music, except "Faust Arp". Most of the album, including the extra material, had been played before. So, in that aspect, I didn't like "In Rainbows". |
