how? (and who?) |
Grrrr. Stupid phone. Let me try again. I have had many obsessions over the years... Some "cool" and some not. That was 15 fucking years ago. I dont give a shit about sp now and I dont know why anyone else would either. Irrelevant. I'm old. 15 years ago many people on this board were listening to the mobile in their crib and weren't even born when I started listening to sy over 20 years ago.
And symbol guy, youre a drama monger. Ha. |

I saw the Pumpkins in their supposed early 90s "heyday," and they were godawful. And preachy between songs. Songs that were awful.
That is all I really have to say on the subject. |
Actually, I did like DM when I was a very young teen. They were the first band to turn me from a fan into a non-fan after seeing them play live.
The Pumpkins I never liked. I would also say that 1986 was past any "heyday" Depeche Mode may have had, heh! |
Quote:
well, as far as I'm concerned, 1986 was the year of Black Celebration and 1987 was the year of Music for the Masses, hm? If this was not heyday, then what was? |
Quote:
It was a simpler time. |

These were the albums that even then had me repeating the tired mantra about the old stuff being better. These days I have no time for any of it. |
I admit to owning:
Siamese Dream Gish and to this day I find those two albums more listenable than anything that I own from Nirvana. I think this band was kind of perfect for the time they happened, they faded quickly, but many bands have been guilty of that same sin. Now if we are talking about Billy Corgan the man - he is a total douchbag, along the lines of Wayne Coyne. Somebody should muzzle him. |
Quote:
Yes I'll to admit to having those albums but I was listening to them in 93 & when ever I feel nostalgic. Honestly I can't stand Billy myself, I think he's a total ass specialy after reading about the man so that's my 2 cents... |
Quote:
black celebration was their final great album... maybe violator if you skipped a few tracks! |
Quote:
I don't agree, for me Some Great Reward and Music for the Masses totally rule! |
how did we get from billy schmorgan to depeche mode?
i love them, my favorite is probably violator (every. single. song.), i even liked playing the angel a lot. |
As far as Depeche Mode is concerned I really like Ultra (I probably prefer it to Violator, which is still great).
|
Jokes aside, Jimmy Chamberlain was still one of the best drummers of the 90's. Out of all the bands I have ever liked in my life, the Pumpkins have gone the deepest into the shitter....and that's really saying something.
|
Quote:
it has some ace tunes, and it's the one that got me into dm, but i think ultra is pretty spotty. Quote:
undeniable. |
What is all this bullshit about Billy Corgan, and ignoring users?

whatever you do, don't laugh. |
