i pretty much only wear jeans: carpenters, loose, straight...mostly blue, sometimes dark blue, once in my life but not anymore black.

i think they fit good.

schizophrenicroom 04.02.2008 10:03 PM

i just bought a pair of near-black, skin-tight skinnies from forever 21 for 9 bucks. holy fuck, i love them. american eagle were selling these indigo/black slim cuts for 29, so i bought two pairs.

511 levi skinny cuts, black skinny levis, 501s, old navy curvy cut, aeropostale skinny flare.. i mostly own jeans. i have a pair of skinny gap jeans that make me feel fat because they're tight everywhere except for the hips.

but as far as tight-without-being-too-restricting, DIESEL jeans are incomparable. the crotch is insane, though.

uhler 04.02.2008 10:08 PM

i only have three pair of jeans that i wear (even though i own about 15). i have an old gap pair that still fit and two pair of levis. one pair is a little short on me but i like the look and the other is skinny fit but they are more loose than my short levis. my gap jean is slim fit also and boot cut.

i loathe baggy jeans or pants (same with shirts) because i can't stand the feel. i dislike them being to skin tight too.

Have to say I love the way DIESEL jeans look, esp the slim/skinny ones. But man, on my budget, I cannot drop 200 bucks on jeans! I'd love to be able to, but that's insanely beyond my realm at the moment.

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 10:41 PM

old navy makes awful jeans, the material is SO cheap. any jeans that have more than 2% of anything but cotton in them are always a big no. and their jeans literally contain like 19% or 20% spandex. the fibres of it come out when they rip.

diesel is one of my favourite brands ever for anything, not exclusively jeans.

girlgun 04.02.2008 10:42 PM

if men over 35 arent supposed to wear jeans, what are they supposed to be wearing?

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 10:44 PM

- you can't prance around in a suit 24 hours a day.
- sweatpants are wrong.
- khakis? please, don't even think about it.

jeans are the only acceptable form of pants except for suit trousers or velvet trousers which are not particularly practical.

i used to wear diesel jeans, but then i realized there is no need for 200 dollars jeans.

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 10:46 PM

when you put them on you know where the extra money went.

i have no problem with spending excessive amounts of money on clothing, which is why i always look awesome, even in my pajamas.

gmku 04.02.2008 10:58 PM

I'm not saying I wouldn't want to. I just don't have the luxury.

And I'm sorry, but Levis just makes them so right, in whatever kind of fit, that I see no reason for spending more than 50 bucks on a pair of jeans. Plus there's something very classic about wearing Levis.

Word. There is no viable alternative. Not here in the land of the free and the brave.

Leather pants, maybe. Again, not practical though.

I nearly 100% agree, but ive got no problems with an occasional pair of chinos, but I am 35+.

gmku 04.02.2008 11:08 PM

I wear gabardine or light-wool chinos for formal occasions, but only then. I eschew the modern-day khakis.

girlgun 04.02.2008 11:09 PM

if I saw some guy wearing leather pants that wasnt on stage with a geetar, I'd point and laugh. For serious.

!@#$%! 04.02.2008 11:10 PM

i cant wear jeans in the summer. too motherfucking hot.

it's linen pants or shorts for me.

ha ha. it is true ladies and gentlemen.

I have pointed and laughed and nearly got beaten up. Seriously. And the pants were red on top of it all. You have to be careful who you point and laugh at, or at least make sure you're with a friend who's tougher than you are.

I retried my AE slim jeans tonight and decided they're okay. Not up to my Levis, but the thing is you can make anything, even khakis, cool if you know what to do with them. It's all about what you put with them.

On the other hand, the AE boot cut sucks. Makes me look like I'm wearing 60s-era wide bell bottoms.

That's cool look in the photo. I don't think I could pull it off, though, especially in light colors like that. I'd feel like something from Gatsby.

girlgun 04.02.2008 11:17 PM

I never ever ever ever wear jeans. I wear skirts and dresses. I wore jeans to super secret book club Monday night and thought I'd never hear the end of it.

gmku 04.02.2008 11:17 PM

Seriously? No jeans ever? Why?

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 11:25 PM

if you're going to wear a suit:

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 11:27 PM

i feel that way in certiain jeans
which is why i don't buy them at like old navy or wal mart and why i opt for either a very dark or very light wash or i feel boring

girlgun 04.02.2008 11:27 PM

fuck Wayne coyne and his stupid fucking suits which he apparently feels will detract from the fact he's never had an original thought.

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 11:28 PM

I think I may try some very dark. Being completely jeansless seems silly.

Pardon my wayne outburst. I detest him.

Norma J 04.02.2008 11:29 PM

jeans is all I wear. I have some tailored suit pants Dylan-eque fit. but jeans is what I wear daily. even in summer.

Everyneurotic 04.02.2008 11:30 PM

i have a couple of old navy jeans, one of them are ripped to almost shreds, the other pair is great though.

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 11:31 PM

old navy didn't used to make shit jeans but they started puting copious amounts of stretch in them recently

by the way speaking of suits, ive figured out what i'm going to wear to my wedding.

white suit. no top underneath jacket. wide leg pants. some sort of platform shoes.

old navy clothes stink-- i mean literally-- they smell horrible.

anyway canks your wedding dress sounds kickass. i think the "top underneath jacket" you refer to is called a vest. but anyway, you sound like you'd be in a fashion magazine from the 70s. very cool. make sure to get a good photographer.

did i ever tell you i suspect you're a reincarnated dead hippie?

- old navy = BOOOOOORING crap quality clothes
- not a dress! a suit! i literally meant i will only be wearing the jacket -- no shirt, no vest, no bra, no nothing. i don't know if we're going to do this in france or england but i can think of plenty of people i can get to take the pictures.
- no. i am not.

uhler 04.02.2008 11:43 PM

old navy clothes are way too big for me. they make clothes to fit frat boys. i did get a no wave shirt from them once (yes old navy was selling a no wave shirt, i guess it was retro). i never really wear it though.

that sounds hot. but beware that if cheeto reads this he might get a heart attack.

ps- when i said "wedding dress" i knew what you meant-- but "wedding dress" is the term that refers to the ceremony-- in my mind anyway.

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 11:45 PM

ahahahaha

figures because mine aren't stretchy at all, i hate stretchy jeans.

and while we're at it, i also detest for the life of me tapered (sp?) legged jeans. i shudder at the mere thought of them.

and yeah, post pictures of the infamous tuxress you're wearing when you get married.

Cantankerous 04.02.2008 11:53 PM

if i eat a lot of cheetos and hostess cakes maybe i can get my boobs back to DDs by then

heart attacks all around
