seemingly the full album has leaked somewhere but i cant find it anywhere...
at least that is a legal download of a song.
straight from the 4ad page. |
its on my myspace page for the last couple of weeks......
oh????????????????????
excellent!! thanks gab!

thankyou |
that's great, i'm listening to the noise made by people right now.

aces. |

I used to have a 10'' of that band. Isn't that the wife of Eddie Verdder's band? |
i got the "leak" of chemical chords already, it's not really the album because all the songs are cut in half or something, they are definitely not complete versions.
it sounds very good so far but i still need to listen to it in it's complete version. |

I believe you're thinking of Hovercraft. They were quite good when I saw them live. Instrumental space rock. |
yeah,them.
so good. Listened to the new album 5000 times.
yep.. its excellent alright! seemingly there are 4 different versions with new tracks and shit on em being released......
"Neon Beanbag" is actually probably my favorite track. What an opening!
i still have yet to hear the new album, i want to wait till its availible to buy. in all honesty i havnt been interested in stereolab in a few yrs, but upon hearing about the new record ive been playing 'dots and loops', 'transient random noise bursts w/ public announcements', and 'peng' quite a bit, and my love of the band has been fully restored. so, where does the new one stand in the stereolab catalog?
I dunno if I'm the best person to ask this since I don't think they've ever made a less-than-stellar album, but I'd say it rates in the upper ranks of stereolab releases. I enjoy it a lot more than fab four suture and mangerine eclipse for example.
its in my top 5 lab releases definatly... where in the top 5...only time will tell.. its a great album.
For any Irish here, Stereolab are to play Cork on Dec 12th in the Pavillion, possibly a Dublin one too?????
I really need to get to listening to this. Stereolab never disappoint me.

she's his ex wife and he played drums with them when they first started. i really need to hear the new stereolab, i will search the blogs for it now... |

dublin on the 13th... whoo hoo! |
OMG the new Stereolab sucks so much it should be called "Terribe dorks" instead of "Chemical chords".
man EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!! and that's from someone who thinks they're a really great band. |
^^^ Haha, what? I never saw that crazy message. Were you kidding?
New album leaked and it's FUCKING AMAZING. They've done it again! One of the few perfct bands. If anyone wants it, supposedly you can attach /?nrvmvijtxzck054 to mediafire and it might download. They're in my top 10 bands ever and I still am blown away by how flat out amazing this album is. |
even by stereolab standards, it's a fucking masterpiece.
I can't wait to hear this. Stereolab are in my top 10 too.
whatever "comeback" tag this "new" album is going to get, i'm probably going to ignore it. stereolab have never released a less-than-good studio album in my books. it'll probably be a similar dealio to people fawning over murray street for whatever reason with me going, "comeback!? but they never went anywhere!"
still, looking forward to hearing it. laetita's solo LP was p. good, but i expect more out of this. |
Looking forward. When they're on form they're nothing less than brilliant.
i haven't heard laetitia sadier's new solo record, but my band got to open for her earlier this year and her playing solo was one of the best things i've ever seen.
the trip is quite good, NOT MUSIC is a masterpiece, have listened to it 10 times. the only track I didn't like was that neon beanbag remix..
"Not Music" is the best thing I've heard all year.
I had Transient Random Noise-Bursts on my hard drive for a while already, this thread made me pick it up -- and wow, guess I shouldn't have been sleeping on this band for so long.
not music is the most unappropriate album title of all time...it is music...it is life...the album should have been called "everything here is great" it is a masterclass in stereolab !
50% of it is boring.
Tim Gane's new band Cavern of Anti-Matter are pretty rad. Only an ep but hopefully some new material soon

Saw them last month on the UK leg just after they had cancelled two other dates, with a very similar setlist. Can't say the band seemed delighted to be there though, and didn't really get anything by way of conversation.
The sound was abysmal for the first half (could hear literally no guitar from where I was stood), though it did get better and the last half-hour was excellent. |

That’s a bummer with the sound starting off bad. I’m assuming the majority of that last half hour was, John Cage Bubblegum: ) My friend saw Stereolab play outside today at Pitchfork Festival in Chicago. Laetitia’s dress is beautiful! ![]() ![]() Pitchfork Festival 01. Percolator 02. French Disko 03. Miss Modular 04. Metronomic Underground 05. Infinity Girl 06. Lo Boob Oscillator 07. Very much a greatest hits set. I'm surprised how large the venues they are playing now, compared to what they played when they were active before.
