Now for the life of me, i never did find that series even remotely funny.

demonrail666 06.05.2008 04:48 PM

Proper telly this was. Old people with names like Pat and Frank, all sitting together talking about Princess Diana for three quartes of an hour.

MellySingsDoom 06.05.2008 04:48 PM

(dr6666, about "DTDD")^^^Oh no, we'll have to ger divorced now! (Can I keep the back issues of "Sight And Sound"? Please?)

demonrail666 06.05.2008 04:49 PM

demonrail^^^ Of course - I have all the Showaddywaddy specials of Look In.

I was browsing through a compilation of "Jackie" mags in Borders a while ago (laugh if you will, but, oh never mind), and there was a "lurve" article about yer Cassidys, Osmonds etc, and it said of Gary Glitter that he had "cold" eyes, and a "practical" attitude to the girlies - and all this in 1974! I'll say!

And as a reminder about the fat, sweaty molester supreme, here's him doing his magnum opus:

You should read Mark E. Smith's autobiography, where he absolutely raves about Glitter. Absolute brilliance.

demonrail666 06.05.2008 05:08 PM

I always think of Jerry Sadowitz's on stage defence of Glitter: "It's a sorry state of affairs when the greatest musician this country has ever produced can't shag who he wants, where he wants."

I have, and it's hilarious! "I'm not defending him, like, but (goes on to defend him anyway)". What a genuine hero.

^^^"The Word" - my god! I remember the episode where Shabba Ranks was going on about how evil homosexuality was, and Mark Lamarr said (or actually yelled), "That's crap, and you know it!" Needless to say, ol' Shabby had nowt to say to that. I also remember the L7 live bit, where Donita Sparks whipped out her minge for live TV. Ah yeah!

haha.

X-Files is brilliant.

Probably the best show in the history of television besides Twin Peaks.

I forgot to add "tales from the crypt" to my list.

i thought that was a XXI century thing

after checking it turns out it started in 1999

if that's the case then i'd like to submit the west wing-- that was an AWESOME show of fucking superior quality-- smart & well done & never watered down. brilliant shit, at least for the first 4 seasons, until its crackhead writer had to quit & go to rehab.

!@#$%! 06.06.2008 12:22 PM

holy fuck how could i forget

late 90s/early 2000s also-- pure awesomeness & a sad loss for teevee.

Yeah, me too, I really enjoyed it when I was a teenager, and I stopped watching it at the end of the season 7, when Mulder left the serie.
I saw the 2 last seasons many years after and found them really boring. the final episode is really disappointing, it seems they didn't know how to end up the show.

HECKLER SPRAY 06.06.2008 04:56 PM

and I found Scully so HOT when I was 14-15 !!!!!
