I'm in until at least 2ish. After that, who knows.

terriblecanyons 07.31.2008 09:54 PM

Sweeeeet. I should download Ghostbusters 1, 2, 3, 4, and 98495894.

Sonic Youth 37 07.31.2008 09:56 PM

If only there were that many. I fill like such an uber geek because I buy Ghostbusters whenever a new edition comes out. I've got 2 DVD sets and 1 VHS set, plus all 3 of The Real Ghostbusters DVD they've released.

terriblecanyons 07.31.2008 10:02 PM

Hahaha. I used to do that with video games. Now I'm broke cause of it :(

Sonic Youth 37 07.31.2008 10:04 PM

Ah, video games. I'll buy one or two a year but I keep with my old standbys. Elder scrolls and such. But, after a month or two I'll go back to playing my NES or city builder games from 8 years ago.

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:06 PM

My friend dylan from giggle the ozone just made this tonight:

www.myspace.com/therealemulators

surf covers of video game songs.

Yeah, a while ago I dug up my SNES from the closet and have been stuck on it ever since. I completed Super Mario World, all 96 exits... and lost a chunk of my social life in the process.

I got talked into selling my NES and all my games (around 25-35)about 10 years ago for $20 in a yard sell. Several years later I realized that I'd fucked up. It took my $20 just to get the system again plus countless hours of rummaging through pawn shops to find maybe 5 of the games I had. and I still can't beat level 8-4 on Mario.

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:14 PM

I have 52 games for my SNES, including 2 copies of Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, all Final Fantasys, Dracula X, Mario RPG, anything you would ever want.

All I need is Earthbound, Ogre Battle, and Harvest Moon!! :)

Damn. :(
I lost most of my SNES games, and buying them back was a bitch - Super Mario World was the only one I could afford, at 20 bucks. Donkey Kong Kountry (one of my all-time favorites) was for like, 30, and Super Mario All-Stars was 50.
Thankfully I found them at a game trader a few miles from here.

But don't even get me started on how pissed I am about losing my N64...

Do you have Kirby Superstar?!?!?!

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:20 PM

yeah

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:20 PM

I just thought of a game I'm missing... ADVENTURES OF BATMAN AND ROBIN for snes.. I love that game... fuck.

terriblecanyons 07.31.2008 10:23 PM

Kirby Superstar is my favorite game ever of all time.

I can't get a hold of a copy of it for the life of me...

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:26 PM

Oh, I got it at a local pawn shop for $6.

terriblecanyons 07.31.2008 10:28 PM

Six bucks? Damn. It's worth 5 times that much.

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:29 PM

Oh wow, that game goes for $40 on amazon? News to me.

Tell ya what, if I run into another copy, I'll let ya know and sell it for $20.

I am in the business of buying and selling games, I bought Brigadine (old Atlus strategy game) at a pawn shop for $8 and sold it for $74 today haha.

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:30 PM

Oh and yeah this local pawn shop sells all their snes games for $6 without exception so pretty much any SNES game you can think of I got for $6.

Except one copy of chrono trigger.. paid $20 to a friend for that but came with the box/instruction manual.

Also, Kirby Superstar Ultra is an upcoming DS game, I'm sure it'll be just as good/better than the SNES version so you're in luck.

terriblecanyons 07.31.2008 10:32 PM

Awesome. Six bucks for any SNES game... I think I just shat myself.

When I have 20 bucks to spare, I'll let you know.

Sonic Youth 37 07.31.2008 10:38 PM

Pawn shops are the shit for used older games most of the time because they don't know what's rare and what's not and can't be bother to look it up.

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:43 PM

Well, I dunno if I'll find a copy anytime soon but if I do...

terriblecanyons 07.31.2008 10:43 PM

Last time I set foot in a pawn shop I believe I was 13. It smelled like old man and beer so I never went back.

Yeah, IF you find one, please please let me know.

That's the smell of pawn. That and cheap cigarettes. I have to quarantine any guitar I buy from a pawn shop in a basement or somewhere for a few weeks otherwise I can't stand being in the same room with it.

terriblecanyons 07.31.2008 10:52 PM

Haha nasty. I bought my guitar from some dude on ebay and it smelled like mothballs and cheap booze for a while before it went away. Matter of fact, I got the guitar 3 years ago and the case still smells nasty as hell.

Haha, case smells never come out. I've got a hardshell that smells like reefer and has for years.

atsonicpark 07.31.2008 10:55 PM

So I started browsing around amazon...

metal gear solid: the twin snakes goes for like $50?!! They seriously have 20 copies of this at that pawn shop.. for $13 each. Uh.. yeeeeeeeeah.

I'd buy them if I were you, then sell them. You could make a pretty penny that way.

Yeah... I'm considering throwing the case away. It's old and rickety and cheap and smells horrible and the outer casing is peeling off... yes, peeling. My guitar would be safer tied to the back of a pickup going 50mph than in the case.

pantophobia 08.01.2008 04:35 AM

woke up at 3 in the morning from a tequila hangover, and though then would be a good time to listen to SYR8 for the first time, umm nooo, that does not sit well with the head

acousticrock87 08.01.2008 05:19 AM

I'm about to be up way to late and not be able to sleep.
