My uncle is an ex heroin addict. He said that when he quit heroin, the withdrawal felt like his bones were slowly breaking.

It's a shame though, he got hooked on the stuff when he was a teenager as his mum had died. He's the nicest person you could ever meet...

In the initial stages of withdrawl all you want is more dope, anything to take away the unpleasentness of it all but then after the spewing and crying etc are done you hit a sag and you dont want any dope at all, you dont really want anything to do with annything and just feel kind of empty. At this point, a few months or weeks depending on your situation your mind starts to think towards drugs and this is when relapse happens for a lot of users. This is also why a lot of people who go back on OD because they use more than their weakened system can cope with and think they can use as much as they did before. Seen many people screw themselves over doing that.

It is possible to get off dope and stay off for sure but once you are truly hooked its always there no matter where you go. There are certain places that I dont go to because thats where I used to score and its hard to go back even after all this time clean.

The temptation to stay off can be easy to destroy and I thought that I was just going to do it a little bit but when you hang in certain crowds then its all to easy. When your hooked kicking looks like its easy but in actual fact its very hard and not an experience that I would want to repeat under any cirumstances. Its like a lot of ex users say, at first you own your addiction but in the end its your addiction that owns you. That might sound pretty dumb but its oh so true.

I know nothing about schizophrenia and drug use really other many people who are homeless and use are mentally ill and if they wern't before they started, then they will be after a while.

All I will say is that its your choice but if I were you then I would not even get started with that shit because you will ruin everything and take that from someone who knows.

1. abolutely no prob on this, since i am the one who started a few of them threads. i am sorry for this though, scumming our lil' community.

2. i haven't kicked it yet, i mean this time. i've kicked a million times before just to lead to me to the hood again, for some more. did i craved for it? yeah, sure. i've pawned, sold, borrowed, stole everything i could get my hands on to get my fix (and still hasn't drowned REALLY bad, been on it only for two years). after being clean for a while the cravings are so strong that you actually find yrself sitting somewhere alone with inly one thought in yr head, until you get your ass up to the man, with or without money. sounds strong enough?

3. i hear it's possible. i hope for the best it's gonna happen to me. but now, at the stage where i am, i don't really trust it would. and it's sad. i really don't know how to cope with it.

6. you are welcome, but my advice is to stay away from heroin. if you can't resist try as hard as you can to keep the chipper status. i know there are chippers in this world, only i've never seen them in front of me. i was one. now i'm a full blown heroin fiend. you get the picture.
