I'm so happy to see someone say that. This is one of their best records and I consider it to be the most underrated album EVER !

Good record though, An Earful O' Wax is my favorite from it.

King Shit & The Golden Boys has some good track as well.

Well, EVERY GBV release has some good stuff on it, some records are just better than others.

It's amazing just how much he writes yet still how consistent he is.

Gotta disagree there, Jeremy. It's amazing how much he writes. That's for sure. But he's not consistent. I mean he was in the golden-era of Matador albums. But really, the seven million albums are more about being fun to collect than they are about being consistently good from start to finish.

Actually with further thought I take my post back and agree more with you. Some his records, while not bad, are records I'll listen to maybe a couple more times. Combine with the fact that I don't really like the later GBV records as much outside of some stuff here in there.....

.... Eitherway the guy still writes tons. That at the least still makes me go coo-coo for cocoa puffs.

the problem with that one is that it's like stupid beat-poetry bullshit with Richard Meltzer. It's really aimless and pretentious and lousy.

SUPERMAN WAS A ROCKER is great BTW. He took instrumentals recorded with GBV (!!!!!) that were never done and added vocals. So it's basically a lost GBV album. I like it a lot.

i never liked gbv and its not as though i havnt listened to them or seen them live. they just seem a bit, well bland for my ears.

Oh, totally. I wouldn't miss it for the world (I hope I didn't just jinx it and I get sick the day of the concerts).

I'm sure they'll do a big tour for this thing... Hopefully you'll get your chance to see 'em live.
