![]() they kinda look similar, but again, fashion (or "fashion research" or wathever this kind of styling may be called) is fashion no matter who wears the stuff, I guess. po po po po . |

That video is insane. One of the comments on it is also a candidate for most bizarrely hateful and nonsensical youtube comment I've heard in a while:
"this is what happens when Zionists take something that was good (lady gaga's older previous stuff), and then infuse their soulless spirit and society hating character into it. What a piece of shit this is. Not to mention they forced her into being some sort of poster boy for gay pride, just because she has some electronic tinge to her music. Morons." |

love it. she's batshit. gaga wins over roisin every time because she is a celebrity freakshow spectacle. superstar status. |
Quote:
Did Roisin Murphy ever win a style award? No. According to her Wikipedia entry she embraced 1960s fashions. Plus she concealed her singing voice because she sounded like Elaine Paige! |
the whole point of Gaga's "look" is that it is an amalgasm of alll the fashion and costume shit she has loved, obviously. that is why everything is in essence an homage style wise.
nothing wrong with that. |
yeah. she's quite obvious about her influences, too, acknowledging both the fashion and musical ones all the time. it's not like she's giving all the credit to herself/the haus of gaga.
|
has anyone heard the conspiracy theory that lady gaga is genetically engineered mermaid (genetically engineered using atlantean technology no less) controlled by the illuminati to turn israel gay and infect them with swine flu, thus toppling the zionist regime?
|
You mean israel's not gay already?
;) |
not yet! apparently there are rabbi sorcerors traveling around israel casting kabbalistic spells to prevent the spread of swine flu and stop the illuminati succeeding!
|
is it the latest hipster fashion to pretend to like all this modern pop garbage? that sure would explain a lot.
|
It's always the lastest hipster fashion to think differently than you, SYG. Always.

MADONNA = Italian-American, got her comeuppance in pre-gentrified totally gritty Lower East Side NYC, FUCKED MICHAEL GIRA FROM SWANS
GAGA = Italian-American, got her comeuppance in post-gentrified totally not gritty yuppy central LES NYC, claims new album is inspired by "German gothic industrial beats," which means it's gonna be a bad Eurotrash gay porn soundtrack Conspiracy? |

Latest??? When Sonic Youth were wearing Madonna and Prince gear in 1985 and swearing up and down that they were part of the same circus? Hell, Kim was telling people that Ratt was one of her favorite bands, which is impossible to justify past half of a song ripped off from Aerosmith. How could this possibly be the latest?? |
I just want to know, when did something being catchy become a bad thing?
I dont listen to this new pop, I fucking hate the mechanical souless feel it has. But I love me some 40s, 50s, and 60s pop! That's the golden shit. 70s 80s and 90s stuff I dig on has pop elements for sure, but wouldnt be considered 'pop'.... Anyone who is over 20 and still calls ppl punks, hipsters, etc. or classifies is a fuck in my opinion. That's an immature way at appreciating music. I don't know what the fuck I am. The first music I remember hearing and digging was phantom of the opera, then it was michael jackson, then aerosmith, then got into Nirvana in 4th grade. From there on it was rock n roll and punk rock, stooges, germs, and then metal...korn, deftones, slipknot, shit like that...by highschool I was listening to nirvana again, some weezer, then got into psychedelics, 50s 60s pop, beatles, beach boys, everly brothers etc. and went from THAT to Sonic Youth and Noise... All of it I found myself, no parental influence, some of the metal shit was friends influence for sure.... but I aint no commie hipster son of a bitch pop music is cool when done right rant rant rant rant rant rant rant rant rant |
"being catchy" is too vague and subjective
But if you really want to shout past people with what you know is catchy, go ahead. It will only sound like someone with protanopia shouting about how he or she knows that the color red is green. |
Then what is catchy to YOU. Smart ass.
& Why. I'll answer after you do. But clearly you understand the point I was trying to make. |
catchy? you don't know what that means?
all of her songs get stuck in my head, but they don't annoy me. this is catchy. |

it's not like every pop act sounds the same, and pop productions (of a certain level) are among the most amazing/interesting songs you can hear nowadays (not just "on the radio"). Like when sygossip said Single Ladies is just a bunch of handclapping and drums, clearly he never cared to listen properly coz there's much more than that in the base. If you guys listen to pop stuff on a tv with mono speakers and no eq there's a good chance things will sound crappier, but that would be true even with the most amazing band(in your book)'s songs. If you say "I don't want to take the time to listen to this stuff properly coz I care for other stuff and I don't have time for this" it's perfectly understandable, but deeming "modern" pop as "souless" or crappy sounding or poorly produced is just a prejudice. |
i got THE LAST TWO tickets. front fucking row.
baller status. |

Awwww, you bought one for me. Thanks, Satan. :) |

I so wish to go to that show. |
"just dance" is the second best mindless anthem i've ever heard
catchy and superficial pop at its best, i love it |

Um, I liked Lilly Allen and Amy Winehouse's records as far as new pop goes. That's about it though. It's not immature, there is no mature way of listening to music. Just fucking listen to it. I listen to as much different stuff as I can, and when I get into something, try to get into something because it was reccomended, I try to listen to everything I can by the artist.
But I can't be bothered to try every obscure new pop artist when there's so much better stuff in my opinion. |

I demand to know who the other ticket is for! |
i have the fame monster!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! |
one of the best shows at Glastonbury this year, easily.

Lady Gaga before the Gaga.
|
before the pop-smear
|
Lady Gaga is great at selling herself y'know image-wise. She really knows how to make herself stand out and that's something I can respect. Her music on the other hand is so incredibly annoying (well except for paparazzi, which was an okay song... just okay).
