My Dad makes quite a bit of money. (He owns his business)....but my family has worked pretty much for everything we have. For teh most part...I could say we had it easy.....well REALLY easy since I'm a first generation American...but none of us were spoiled. I'm 21 I pay rent(separated parents), my cell, my car, insurance and just about everythign else I need. Though....I do work 40-50 hours a week...I'm a little comfortlble right now....taht rent is really low..

they need people to teach in asia, they'll take anyone.

Myself I did ok in my days. We owned our own house, 2 cars and a vacation place at the beach. The kids never starved, had good clothes we were able to travel once a year on a vacation. Now I'm not wealthy but I have enough money to survive. Drive a new car and have a nest egg.

yeah. I work for my Dad...which I hate/love. I mean it's great. but...it's got it's downsides.

And I do no plan on staying with this business. My brother is pretty much gonna be left with this company. He knows just about everything about this place now...And yeah...I've always had to work for just about everything I own. My Dad would give us money when we needed it...but when we wanted stuff to buy...we would need to find our own way of getting it. (which through work pretty much...)

Every listing I've read from recruiters looking for teachers required a college degree. Everyone I know teaching in Korea had a degree before teaching. There are some that don't require it but those aren't full teaching jobs.

have you guys heard about these "quality control" jobs in china....companies want white people in suits to stand around at their events and they'll pay lot's for one week and put you in a top hotel, i saw only one article about it but i'm under the impression they just want white people around so it looks like they do business with foreigners or something

I was super duper poor as a child, used to sleep on a matress without a bed etc. Once i got into my teens we were better off, more lower middle class, though i was still poorer than most of my peers. Now id say im solid middle class. I see no virtue in being poor, its shit. No-one should be poor.
