There's a different event happening at Minehead that weekend:
http://www.bigweekends.com/your-break/81786

If that's the reason that it's getting postponed, then that would be HILARIOUS!

EvdWee 10.19.2011 05:38 PM

i guess there was some miscommunication between Butlins' and ATP.

Butlins is selling tickets for this 70's event which is the same dates as the rescheduled ATP

hope this does not lead into a break-up between ATP and Butlins'.

News about Nightmare BEFORE Christmas:

Caribou's headline set at the festival will be as the Caribou Vibration Ensemble featuring - special guest Marshall Allen (Sun Ra Arkestra), Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) on synthesizers and electronics, James Holden on modular synthesizers, a 4 piece horn section and two drummers - an 11 piece band total. This is only the second time Caribou Vibration Ensemble have performed - the first show was at ATP NYC in 2009. The band features the four piece horn section that featured on Caribou's Swim LP and James Holden's modular synth is going to be connected to / played by Ahmed Gallab's (Sinkane/Yeasayer) drum kit.

From All Tomorrow's Parties:

Butlins have let us know they have yet to update their site to take off the 70s event currently listed on there on 9th-11th March - it should come down very soon. It should also be noted the event they are now running in December has been put together by them in the last week and has nothing to do with our rescheduling Jeff's weekend.

nicfit 10.20.2011 05:53 AM

I think (as a "non involved" person..) that it's quite annoying to hear ATP keep on telling which things are unrelated with the rescheduling while NOT telling the actual reasons for it...noh?
It wouldn't change things, but at least people would quit speculating....

Latest ATP news...

Tuesday November 1, 2011

"Due to the rescheduling of the ATP curated by Jeff Mangum festival to March 2012, we have just received confirmation that Jeff Mangum's two London shows at the Union Chapel, and The Olivia Tremor Control's London show at Cargo will also move to March.

The Olivia Tremor Control show will now take place at the same venue on Wednesday 7th March 2012.

We are currently awaited information regarding the new dates for Jeff's shows which will be in mid-March at the same venue - we will have this information very soon and email it out to all ticketholders.

All original ticket bookings for these three shows will be honoured, or refunds are available from point of purchase if you cannot attend the new dates."

Couple of annoying clashes
Archers of Loaf/No Age

Pretty great weekend overall, probably the most fun ATP I have been to. Everyone was really up for it without going over the top. I think the diversity of the line up helped, sometimes it can feel a bit of a slog when there are similar kinds of acts on. Having dance acts on later in the night certainly helped the party atmosphere. Only complaint was the rancid smell of hot dogs which seemed to be everywhere and was still in my clothes when I got home.

Highlights include Nisennenmondai who were by far the best band of the weekend for me. Archers of Loaf, Bitch Magnet, Hot Snakes, Omar Souleyman and No age were all good as well.

EvdWee 12.14.2011 11:34 AM

to my experience this one was the least I've been to (Patton/Melvins, MBV, Godspeed). Still, I had a great weekend. Musical highlights:
Dead Rider, Total Control, The Ex w/ Mekuria, Nissenenmondai, Connan Mockasin, Oxes(!), Battles

Hopefully next year be more 'dark' and experimental.

E. Noisefield 12.14.2011 09:50 PM

All I read was Battles, Caribou, Les Savvy Fav.

One of my favorite bands, one who I followed for one album, and one that I've never even really listened to.

Not as elemental as past curator line-ups.
