I'll have to take a few flips through tomorrow and post again. I've been burned pretty badly on more than a few occasions!

touch me i'm sick 08.08.2006 08:31 PM

probably spice girls, which was in my colelction as like a 2nd grade birthday present. i feel i need to get rid of it

pokkeherrie 08.08.2006 08:54 PM

i still have an mc hammer album from when i was 12... can't say i hate it though, i liked that stuff back then.

what i do hate is when you buy an album without hearing it because you liked earlier albums from the same artist and then play it just once, twice and never listen to it again because you don't like it at all... so my answer would be

- nick cave and the bad seeds - bring it on
- the last pj harvey album (ugh ugh her)
- the last solex album
- the last cat power album

Daycare Nation 08.08.2006 08:56 PM

i liked the last cat power

i'm not very fond on the last sonic youth album either but i've played that more than 2-3 times.

Cantankerous 08.08.2006 09:00 PM

oh i hate it. I HATE IT. i'm glad it's a CD so i can not care that i have it.

It's country music. That isn't what people like Cat Power.

Inhuman 08.08.2006 09:02 PM

That T.A.T.U CD. I was 12 years old though. Nothing better than idolizing two russian psuedo-lesbians trying to make money off a music career

What's wrong with a country influence? Anyway it was more of a Memphis influence.

Cantankerous 08.08.2006 09:06 PM

i think i read in rolling stone that she recorded it in memphis.

The recording engineer knows my best friend and is from where I live....he worked with her on What Would the Community Think? as well. I don't know him, though.

drrrtyboots 08.08.2006 09:21 PM

She recorded it in memphis with the rhythm band. Her whole act is no fun anymore either with them, she's lost her shy and nervous stage antics that made her the experience it's always been because she has a big backing band to rely on. And i'm not a fan of country so in my opinion it was a disappointing release. But she's doing some solo sets again so whatever.

Cantankerous 08.08.2006 09:21 PM

she has always been shy.

Her solo acts are horrible.

It was refreshing to hear her recording with an actual band that did not sound sloppy.

drrrtyboots 08.08.2006 09:23 PM

From the shows my friends have been going to lately apparently not. That's what i like about her.

She's not shy in person, when you talk to her. I don't understand why she acts the way she does on stage.

True, she has really off nights. Where she'll start a song and skip the chorus or stop halfway through and start something else. But when she's on she's fucking on.

Cantankerous 08.08.2006 09:24 PM

i actually really like her without the band. like on bathysphere and such.

drrrtyboots 08.08.2006 09:24 PM

Ever heard of stage fright?

Daycare Nation 08.08.2006 09:26 PM

I got so sick of seeing her perform that I wasn't even planning on going...then she canceled her tour. I have never seen her give a good performance, but she drew some really cool pictures and a backwards secret message on my record cover.

Cause it's an act. I've hung out with her for a few hours a couple different times, and while she's a total sweetheart, she knows what she can get away with onstage.

Exactly...It's not stage fright. But at the same time I think she really feels guilty for "sucking ass" as is she is so fond of saying of herself on stage. She apologized to me personally for sucking ass.

pantophobia 08.08.2006 10:21 PM

Cat Power's show in NY in June was so amazing, there had to have been over 2000 people in the hall and i didn't hear barely a whisper, in contrast at Arthurfest she kept fucking up cause a security guard's radio was going off

but for the topic, Hole - Celebrity Skin, no big deal paid a buck for it in Cinci

Cantankerous 08.08.2006 10:25 PM

that album does totally suck.

sonicl 08.09.2006 03:12 AM

I don't have any CDs I hate. If I don't like 'em, I don't keep 'em. I have about forty or fifty CDs on my dining table at the moment waiting to go to Music & Video Exchange at the weekend, but that's mostly just because I'm moving house soon and need to downsize.

What's wrong with metric now?

raging_nelly 08.09.2006 04:31 AM

Razorlight's new self titled album, utter shite compared to the first one... on one of the songs they've gone all country and western! (Nuthin' against country and western, it's just not my thang!') One good song (In The Morning) apart from that, stay clear...

Dead Disco. I don't think that they're all that bad.

I don't know. I saw both of those bands live. BSS put on quite a good show, but I did get bored by the New Pornographers.\

I would have to say that the least favourite in my collection is Machina by Smashing Pumpkins and White Light Rock and Roll Review by Matthew Good. Those two did nothing for me (I was appalled by Machina) when I first got them, yet they have grown on me.

I think Rather Ripped is pretty damn good by the way.
