You know, the internet message board equivalent to flipping the channel is skipping the post.

nice try

That was a message I wrote to Everyneurotic when he chastised me for posting, in his view, one too many The Simpsons quotes.

I'd like to add that when I reposted his messages, I posted them completely in their entirety and that nothing was omitted.

Yes, i know. i read the thread.

GeneticKiss 09.26.2006 09:40 PM

Atari 2600 must be rather bored tonight.......

Toilet & Bowels 09.26.2006 09:42 PM

quoting comedies is for people who can't think of their own jokes

Cantankerous 09.26.2006 09:42 PM

well, i hate to rain on your parade, but i have some place to be.

signing off, this is cantankerous. remember to keep watching the skies (and fuck off.)

Oh really? I believe that I routinely demonstrate that I can remember these quotes, look them up & apply them in some relative way to what is being discussed. The same goes for song lyrics.

My memory is pristine and that's why I'm sometimes compared to a machine.

GeneticKiss 09.26.2006 09:44 PM

And Tank Girl must be having her period since she seems to be saying "Fuck Off" alot...

Well it's time to update your programming because this process does not result in humour.

atari 2600 09.26.2006 09:52 PM

Not a fan of performance art then?

To each his own.

Thanks for the input; I'll take the retooling suggestion under advisement.

I'll also add at this point that no one else on the board that is logged in tonight and reading recognized any of them either. This is most likely owing to the majority of porkmarras' messages being often flippantly mean-spirited and instantly forgettable.

I suppose birds of a feather do flock together, Toilet & Bowels.

I even started to get bored with it pretty quickly myself and tried to start posting ones that I felt would be associated with him more readily, but still no one noticed. Then, I posted the one with the word "rubbish" and thinking that might be a giveaway, went ahead and revealed what I had been doing. In hindsight, it now seems to me that I should have kept doing it, perhaps for days on end, just to get a chuckle at the daft cluelessness I was met with during the undertaking.

Cantankerous is like that most of the time, GeneticKiss.

It's the perma-rag phenomenon.

Everyneurotic 09.26.2006 10:07 PM

no offense atari, but your posts lately are pretty forgettable, it's simpsons quote after simpsons quote, i forget which ones you use for each topic.

plus, it's not like there's a trophy if you remember something from the board, they don't give pulitzers out to message board posts.

atari 2600 09.26.2006 10:09 PM

I suppose birds of a feather do flock together, Everyneurotic.

Everyneurotic 09.26.2006 10:09 PM

whatever.

unmemorable post.

atari 2600 09.26.2006 10:10 PM

Don't cry now.

Poor lamb.

Everyneurotic 09.26.2006 10:11 PM

really, stop smoking pot, it kills brain cells and makes you paranoid, learn to enjoy life instead of suffering it!

atari 2600 09.26.2006 10:31 PM

Oh but you should smoke some pot, learn to enjoy life in its full splendor, and stop being so uptight about stuff like whether or not I post quotes from The Simpsons.

Yeah it kills so many brain cells that I have an eidetic photographic memory. Chemicals are what damages brain cells permanently, Mr. Science.
The human body sloughs off dead skin cells, for instance, every day (which are food for dust mites) and we replace our own skins all the time. The same goes for all of our other organs & tissues at a slower rate. When you cut yourself, do you not heal? You're a victim of propaganda. Marijuana is God's glorious green gift, the dragon of life, the agathodaemon.

Everyneurotic 09.26.2006 10:33 PM

i just posted that because i like you, i just made an observation this afternoon; i hardly see the reason for you to flip out.

but whatever man, just some friendly word, take it as you please.

atari 2600 09.26.2006 10:39 PM

Sean Lennon is on Letterman tonight!

He has a new one coming out or it may already be released.

If he's playing on CBS, then I guess it does follow that it is out already.

Did you see those Venom torrents? I posted those in the announcments thread with you in mind.

finding nobody 09.26.2006 10:43 PM

Sean Lennon's Into The Sun is a very very cool album. Thurston plays on it at some point.
Much much much better then asshole Julian Lennon

atari 2600 09.26.2006 10:45 PM

Thurston plays on it? Wow, that's exciting news.

I liked Ono's Rising (& the remix album) and I really liked Sean's Neil Young-tinged guitar playing.

Sean is starting to look more & more like his father.

It's a pity about Julian, because his voice sounded a lot like John's.

finding nobody 09.26.2006 10:49 PM

The only song I ever heard by Julian sounded exactly like John. But that's exactly why I refuse to listen to it.

I read on Rhapsody about Thurston guest staring on Into The Sun

Into The Sun came out in 1998. You were probably reading about the follow-up album that is being released soon.

holy shit!!! thanks man!!! will check out!

atari 2600 09.26.2006 11:10 PM

There's been a couple more after those too.

Right now there are seven active seeds. A virtual Venom torrent war, it is, including their '83 demo and some soundboards.

___

I remember reading about Sean's current album a good while back when it was an upcoming album and before there was a title. I don't know how I have overlooked his 1998 (I googled) debut album, but I suppose these things sometime happen.

His new album is called Friendly Fire.

atari 2600 09.26.2006 11:39 PM

Yuck! I didn't care for that song at all as it was some sort of ill-conceived easy listening junk. I just didn't like one single thing about it.

Everyneurotic 09.26.2006 11:44 PM

you mean the song he just played? yeah, it sucked.

it would rule if there was concerts of venom from before '83, the at war with satan demos look interesting.

Oooh, I know this one - is that from Steptoe and Son? The Simpsons? Emmerdale? Ooh, you'll have to remind me.

This kid, Haytin' Assche, he knows I can fuckin' spell. He's known me from this board for over two fucking years, but yet he tries to look superior for calling out a typographical error I made. Go ahead, tell me I have a typo, but don't then throw in that everything I write is incorrect just because I made a fucking typo. The kid, HATIN GIRL ASS is simply a no-count little faggot twerp.

Rob Instigator 09.27.2006 12:40 PM

Lamont Sanford - "Dad, something smells funny in here."
Fred Sanford - "Go wash your upper lip boy."

atari 2600 09.27.2006 12:42 PM

I've got a right to be angry, and now these people do too.

Should I add you to the list, ASSMAN?
