Indeed, I do. I have none right now, except for some photographs from a recent record party, LPs scattered about and all, wot? What kind of archive shots are you interested in?

LP porno shots, like the kind I have posted in the past.
You know, the whole thing in its natural state.

gmku 12.12.2006 04:49 PM

I'll do what I can. Presentation doesn't match yours. Basically my record space is just a converted linen closet. With lockable door to keep out record thieves!!!

Savage Clone 12.12.2006 04:50 PM

Yeah, but I'll bet you have some sort of hygrothermograph in there to make sure the climate control is at optimum levels. I don't have one of those.

porkmarras 12.12.2006 04:51 PM

I can imagine a few people wanting to nick a few Rolling Stones records in the 60s.

gmku 12.12.2006 04:51 PM

Clone, No, just little Victorian vinyl faeries what keeps the baddies away.

Ah, you just have Stones envy.

Rob Instigator 12.12.2006 05:15 PM

i like records. I just do not give off that "Uber record collector" vibe I guess.
some collections are meandering, owning anything and everything opartly for completism and partly for the fact that a certain shit record may have one good song on it. I steer clear of that route. the guys nominated have some sweet collections though. much respect!

gmku! I just got Devil's Jukebox 7" set for under $10.00!!!!!

gmku 12.12.2006 05:28 PM

Whoa. No way. Lucky son of a gun.

I love it when good vinyl finds are under 10 bucks.

I try not to get too meandering. I can get a little obsessive--interested in collecting all of an artist's discography (impossible) or in various reissues (e.g., my U.K. and U.S. pressings of Sticky Fingers and Exile). And I'm pretty obsessed with colored vinyl and with 180gram reissues. But I also try to be discriminant and buy just music that I really like, and not because it might be collectible.

Exactly.

I buy most, if not all, of my vinyl secondhand. I never really buy anything brand new, as I like my vinyl to be more of a hunt, finding treasure, rather than just going to the store and paying a stupid amount for somehting that I could buy on compact disc alot cheaper, and be just as happy with.

gmku 12.12.2006 06:06 PM

Yeah, I hate that many new records are now more expensive than CDs. Especially the reissues are.

k-krack 12.12.2006 06:10 PM

I bought a couple of awesome vinyls for about the same price as cd's. I picked up Fugazi's The Argument for I believe $13 and, The Velvet Undergound & Nico for $14. (both from a sadly passed-on store...) And more recently than this, I found Psychocandy used for $8!

Norma J 12.12.2006 07:12 PM

Well Fugazi vinyl new is acceptable. They're cheap, and it's Fugazi.

k-krack 12.12.2006 07:15 PM

Word. Plus, the cd wasn't in stock at the store, and I really wanted some Fugazi. (I'd not even heard them prior to buying it, though!)

gmku 12.12.2006 07:21 PM

I'm embarrassed to say half my Fugazi is on CD. Hope that doesn't disqualify from the running? I had to use up a Best Buy gift certificate (I know, I know) and I figured that was the best use of the thing. But vinyl is definitely the preferred Fugazi medium. They do the cover art so well.

Norma J 12.12.2006 07:32 PM

I don't own any Fugazi on vinyl. And I don't mind that I don't. I will most likely, just for the artwork alone.

porkmarras 12.12.2006 07:37 PM

Where's Toilet & Bowels?

gmku 12.12.2006 08:56 PM

Can a guy have too many bananas? The lower right copy is actually a cheesy German polydor issue from the 1980s. Lower left is the mono copy. Upper right, yellow--though in the pic, it looks more orange, because of the tungsten lighting. Upper right, plain old black vinyl copy.

gmku 12.12.2006 09:02 PM

A few of my singles, including SubPop bubble gum pink Smashing Pumpkins.

Savage Clone 12.12.2006 11:48 PM

I'd post something more interesting or highlight a particular jewel or two if my camera hadn't been stolen recently, but alas, I'll have to use the old and too-often-posted picture of my cock. I mean, my records. Thanks to gmku for the cool pix!

Norma J 12.12.2006 11:51 PM

Police: You have any idea who might have wanted to steal your records?
Savage Clone: Ummmm, try the internet.

Savage Clone 12.12.2006 11:51 PM

They would have to get past the dog.
And my electric fence.
And my gun that shoots knives.

Norma J 12.12.2006 11:52 PM

Couple of T-bones would fix that problem.

gmku 12.13.2006 12:56 AM

Hand em over, fella.

Somebody scribbled all over your Daydream Nation, tho. Two bad. ;)

gmku 12.13.2006 12:57 AM

Some recent favorite acquisitions...

soniknirve 12.13.2006 01:03 AM

how much did you get the PIL set for? I saw one for 40 recently.

Jonathon takes a break from the stacks to see what the fuss is all about.

Nico peeks out cautiously.

The captain gives a friendly wave.

ALIEN ANAL 12.13.2006 01:42 AM

ahaha

HaydenAsche 12.13.2006 01:44 AM

Records are shit. I voted for Clone. He's the cutest.

Norma J 12.13.2006 02:14 AM

Haydenasche, I saw that you now have a Myspace. You've changed man, you've changed.

king_buzzo 12.13.2006 03:43 AM

id vote for all of them. but i voted for savage clone as well hes so neat and organized.

soniknirve's is quite cool

Rob Instigator 12.13.2006 10:25 AM

you can never have too many bananas.
I have 4 version sof udhoney's every good boy deserves fudge. One is regular, one is a picture disc. one is on grey marble vinyl and one is on red vinyl. I am a vinyl whore for my fave albums.

ALIEN ANAL 12.13.2006 10:27 AM

onetime man i had records, but the man stole them from me man, they were like really flying saucers man

sonicl 12.13.2006 10:31 AM

I voted DJ Rick, 'cause he recommends some pretty cool shit without even being asked. To my mind that's pretty cool.

gmku 12.13.2006 10:41 AM

A vote for DJ rick is like a vote for Nader. Yes, he's a good man, but by not voting for either Clone or me, you're letting Clone win. Do you really want a year of rule under the Clone regime?

soniknirve 12.13.2006 10:51 AM

if you're gonna talk about boots, i think atari runs that game.
