well, as I am going to take an exam, the Baccalaureat (which is the main exam in France), so I have to make choices about my further studies, which kind of determines my future professional background, therefore life, etc. So it's kind of a stressing situation.

(by the way, I don't mean to shamelessly promote myself, but here is the first track I wrote with my keyboard :D http://soundcloud.com/syrfox/above-shapes )

al shabbray 04.06.2009 01:16 PM

and for which direction you ve decided?

I will take a listen after that mika miko wave is over :)

SYRFox 04.06.2009 01:22 PM

mika miko is great :)

for the moment, I choose more literary studies. But it's a hard choice, cause right now, I am in a scientific section and I have very good results in maths and physics as well. Right now I'm heading to be an english teacher - I love english.

al shabbray 04.06.2009 01:24 PM

so you havent made your final decision yet?

SYRFox 04.06.2009 01:46 PM

Well, let's say that I've made it (especially since I've find a type of study which is a literary section but still with maths), but I still have a little inner voice of "am I doing the right thing" :D

al shabbray 04.06.2009 01:52 PM

I think thats normal with almost every decision you will make, which is that important!!! so dont worry, but what the heck is that math/literary combined thing?

it's a Classe Préparatoire (I don't know how I should translate it, you can learn about it there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classe_...es_%C3%89coles)
Literary Classes Préparatoires are called Khâgnes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kh%C3%A2gne

So I'm going to do a special type of Khâgne, called "B/L" (as opposed to A/L which is pure literary), which includes, in addition with all the literary subjects, mathematics and Economic+Social sciences.

SYRFox 04.06.2009 04:00 PM

that last pic looks ethereal, it could be the cover for a shoegaze album

al shabbray 04.06.2009 04:15 PM

@fox
the nu track is great, how did you do the spheric synths which are best heard at the beginning? or to say it better with what, I know what it is, but ya, you know :)
and its epic, really took me on a travel within

Derek 04.06.2009 05:28 PM

I haven't felt myself today and I've been battling a pounding headache.

thanks a lot!
if you speak about the synths at the beginning of the track (the first synth sound), they're just three oscillators on sine setup filtered through reverb and chorus. I barely ever use chorus but I decided to try and use it and it came with that, so I'm rather fine with it :D

al shabbray 04.07.2009 11:35 AM

I agree, sounds wiiiiiiiiiideeeeee, what I liiiiiiikeeeeeee :)
