sonic sphere 10.14.2009 06:30 AM

import/export is about a ukranian nurse who moves west to find a better life and an austrian security guard who heads east to try and do the same thing. pretty good film i thought, worth a look.

artsygrrl 10.14.2009 07:04 AM

Donald Cammel: The Ultimate Performance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K7J6...eature=related

excellent, rare documentary on the excellent, rare director (he only made 4 films in 25 years)..

glen or glenda - 9/10
bride of the monster - 5/10

My favorite Ed Wood film aside from Glen.. is NIGHT OF THE GHOULS.

Derek 10.15.2009 01:57 PM

Those are the only 2 I've seen. I burnt a disc of Glen or Glenda, Bride of the Monster and Plan 9 From Outer Space.

I don't understand the hate Glen or Glenda gets... I thought it was quite an entertaining, creative and innovative (for the time) movie. I guess people are looking at it from a shallow point of view.

Bride of the Monster was interesting, I especially love the stock footage but it didn't entertain me much.

atsonicpark 10.15.2009 02:08 PM

Glen or Glenda is in my top 50 films ever. A surreal masterpiece. Probably still a bit ahead of its time. Really interesting, innovative and clever editing. PULL THE STRING. It also happens to be one of Lynch's favorite films of all time (and a big inspiration on Eraserhead).

This was not as horrible as it was made out to be.

icybluejeans 10.15.2009 08:48 PM

This terrible documentary on Bach. Sucked.

Yeah, it's Godard, fugazifan.

I love Anatomy of Hell.

Also, always happy to see Cube mentioned, always been a bit underrated.

Derek 10.16.2009 04:21 PM

fando y lis - 7/10... will probably go up with future viewings.

Watched Sonatine with my girlfriend also.

atsonicpark 10.16.2009 07:13 PM

Meshes in the Afternoon rules, love the soundtrack! In a Year of 13 Moons is great but I don't think I'll ever watch it again...

My favorite Fassbinder is probably WHY DOES R HERR RUN AMOK?

breligion 10.17.2009 12:08 PM

Spider, last weekend. It took a while to engage me, which was frustrating. That was forgivable though; it was a good movie.

Zombieland, this weekend. It did not take a while to engage me. It was a fairly good movie. =)

Sogo Ishii's "Angel Dust" - 8/10

Really blew me away.

atsonicpark 10.19.2009 11:32 PM

Yeah, Asano is in a noise band with him occasionally. I've seen Electric Dragon, which I love, Bursty City which was alright, and Gojoe which was interesting but too long. Angel Dust blew me away though, gonna check out more.
