Linda sang too much with the Eagles.

Then she remembered she is mexican and sang corridos and rancheras and my wife digs those. hahahah

Listening to Jeff Beck was like listening to the early AC-DC records. All I kept thinking was "why the fuck am I listening to this shit?"

Bon Scott is who he was, but those early ac-dc records sounded like such trash when I was 12-16. hahhahah

haha, i was gonna make you a list of my favorite songs from that era but ended up listening to a couple of albums instead.

vocalists aside, they always had a great rhythm guitar and great drums. plus they were fast back then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0y_s_uuVZQ damn, i love "riff raff" and "let there be rock" and "rocker" in that set. hahahahha i wanna play drums like that.

when parrot man came to sing after bon scott choked to death with his own puke the band got heavier and slower. more serious too, with cannons and salutations that made me giggle as a kid but can't listen to anymore without cringe.

It's an embarrassing reflection on my country that AC/DC are our most famed musical exports.
That said, they give the people what they want.

they were best in the 70s. they became famous later really, but then INXS was more of the 80s.

in the 90s... kylie minogue? lmfao i don't really know.

olivia d'abo?

wait, wasn't olivia neutron-bomb more famous, even, in her day?

i heard she died. the thing i remember the most was that she was very pretty, which she was.

but anyway, seriously now, acdc were great and primitive immortal rocknroll in an era of prog/symphonic/disco tinged rock bands. they were almost punk, not quite as fitting punk conventions, but as savage as iggy, and nearly as dumb as the ramones except more fun, and more varied really. the ramones songs all sound the fucking same hahahaha.

anyway, acdc weren't intellectuals for sure, but thank fuck for that.

Yeah, ONJ had had cancer for a while and I think last year it finally became too strong. I've not really listened to her but I respect her reputation.

I guess for the zoomers it's Tame Impala and King Gizzard as renowned Aussies. The Avalanches too...the Wiggles maybe?

I have a passing familiarity with Cave (one of my projects for the year was to download a pile of live shows from a friend after the Hanging Rock shows he did in November); I have to support him as a musician from country Victoria.

And Down Under...so good.

Men At work ruled.

INXS ruled.

for a while, Midnight Oil ruled too.

Today 400 years ago, 29 March 1623, my great-great-great-great-uncle, or something like that, was decapitated and quartered for his part in the failed plot to assassinate the Prince Of Orange.
Memories of this event can be found in the collections of the Louvre in Paris and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam

And here's the video!

Spent today hanging out with an American friend from Twitter who's been in Australia on holiday. Her and the people she's staying with caught the train to my town in the morning, so we went around our botanical gardens and the wildlife park.
