8/10. Just a very good black comedy from the Coen brothers, the best directing duo around. John Malkovich's and Brad Pitt's acting are just great.

took a bus to NYC yesterday. They played:

1. Elf (love it)
2. Aliens Vs Monsters [or is it Monsters Vs Aliens?] (it was good)
3. a fucked up bootleg of that new Sandra Bullock football movie (stopped playing halfway thru)
4. Up (heart-breaking)

That last 10 minutes or so of this are pure genius.

viewtiful_alan 11.29.2009 12:51 PM

9/10
Great, but not quite as good as the first two parts.

7/10

7.5/10
A very well done adaptation. Unfortunatley I didn't get to see it in 3-D.. but I'd still highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a good christmas movie to see in theatres.

I don't own the 4th one..

if i remember the order correctly then 4 was one of the best ones.

the third is like an 8.5 or 9 out of ten to me

Derek 11.29.2009 01:18 PM

3 was a good one, some of it was extremely clever I thought. 5 was sort of predictable and boring but entertaining enough.

And I don't own 4 because I bought 1, 2, 3 and 5 out of a charity shop for £2 once and they were missing the 4th one.

wellcharge 11.29.2009 01:21 PM

All 5 glorious hours. Bergman, you are a god. A masterpiece, clearly, and a film that I could say an awful lot about, but won't right now because I'm faced with only getting 1 hour of sleep. I will however note that it is makes some of the most magnificent use of close ups in all of cinema...

EDIT: Oh, and that I seriously urge everyone to devote their time to the full version of this. It's a big investment of time and emotion, but damn if it isn't one of those rare works of art that, as much as a film can, seems to make you a better human being just for watching it. Praise don't come much higher than that!

amerikangod 11.30.2009 04:45 AM

'Antichrist.'

Chaos reigns, bro.

atsonicpark 11.30.2009 06:07 AM

antichrist is fun for the whole family.

alteredcourse 11.30.2009 02:19 PM

Fuck, mininova.org had to limit their content (pretty much down to nothing).

Pretty damn good. Not one of Allen's best, but as always, Allen on even middling quality means more to me than pretty much any other filmmaker...

jon boy 12.01.2009 04:21 PM
