shortwave? Or do you mean songs about the radio?
|
Well, I don't have an output line to record from shortwave, but there are some shortwave related bits.
Songs about radio, radio art, classic radio broadcasts. Its neat and weird. |
That sounds pretty interesting.

sorry and thanks spookie. i'm pretty sure the package got "lost" because it had money; i posted a 14 disc package and a 7 disc package the same day i posted the cd-r with the tape and both packages arrived save and sound, the only one that didn't was the one with money. i'd hate to take my chances and send a package with money and not have it arrive, so i'm paypalling you the money. now we have a present situation; i can a) paypal you the money and post you both cd-rs with material for tapes rounds 2 and 3, and send a belated one for the one who didn't receive my round two tape or b) maybe send you the mp3 files and pm'ing them to the person who was supposed to get my tape. i'm probably siding with solution number a. i'm very sorry for causing trouble... |
I have a mix-tape. Do I win? It's Bytor Peltor's. I haven't listened to it yet, but it's going on as soon as Karen Carpenter stops singing. Reports imminentnntntntntntnt.

I recieved mine today. Initial inpressions, baded upon the opening piece, are favourable.
|
I've just recieved mine and it's from PAULYBEE.I haven't listened to it yet but the tracklist alone is ace.And that cover!
|
During the first listen, I'm enjoying mine a lot. Nothing that I actually dislike, and much that I like a lot.
There are few guitars to be seen, which is a nice thing, and much dialogue and/or noise infected electronica. It starts of in fine fettle, with imposing dialogue and disconcerting wails backed up with a great instumental tune. The tape takes in some folk sounds, some nice short free jazz (?) sounds, a bit of the mighty Sir John of Peel in one of the tracks, some jolly sounds, some dark sounds, some female vocals, some very poppy stuff. It's quirky and cool, and whilst I do recognise some of the artists - Einstürzende Neubauten, Gogol Bordello - I'm new to most of them... ...which is exactly why I'd like the maker to come clean and post a tracklist. I'd like to relisten to the tape and get some comments from him/her. I'll happily scan and post the cover art later. |
I like my tape. There's a nice mix of the familiar and the unfamiliar. Sounds like Ozzy at the moment. I've listened to it a few times. I particularly like the opening two tracks and the final track (which, as every good mix tape should, cuts off before the end). The only downside is that there is a David Bowie song on there, and I really fucking hate Bowie. But otherwise a top quality tape. And besides which, that's part of the point of mix-tapes, having songs that might not necessarily appeal to their recipient. Good work Mr Peltor.

You put your name on it.
I was thinking that the Einsturzende track wasn't by them. I was thinking to myself, "Just because it's German doesn't mean it's Einsturzende". I can't believe I didn't like the Art Bears when I first heard them. The track on here is fantastic. Likewise Volcano the Bear, who I saw live and thought they were going to be a live-only band. |
Hipster, I am very happy to tell you that you have my tape!
I'll have a tracklist shortly for you. |

Excellent - it's nice to have your creation, Пятхъдесят Шест. The folky aspect made me kind of suspect it might have been your tape. I've just resumed listening half way through side two. I'm keen to know the band identities. Scanning the cover art now. |
The cover is quite boring...
I'm glad you've enjoyed it! Tracklist coming soon. |
It´s interesting that nobody (except of Hip Priest) seems to be able to write
"Einstürzende Neubauten". For those who don´t have the "Ü" on their keyboards: "Einstuerzende Neubauten" sorry, i get quite pissed when it comes to this point |

If we're being picky then, there was no need for saying 'Except of Hip Priest'. But hey, it's all gravy baby. |
upps
sorry for that I´m Austrian and we are all kind of dumb you know |
I gathered. To be honest, I was just being a dick.
I used to live with an Austrian. He was an utter twat. I've met nice ones though. |
