It is a hollowbody, needs a new nut and truss rod cover. No idea what brand. 60's or 70's. Don't know what brand.

CHOUT 08.14.2007 12:28 AM

Where did he find it? How much?

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.14.2007 01:05 AM

His friend's antique shop, 120

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.15.2007 09:30 PM

Danny I'll say 225 shipped to the UK.

CHOUT 08.15.2007 09:41 PM

Got one of these the other day:

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.15.2007 10:21 PM

Cool, I've been sort of wanting a Q-tron + (for the effect loop) and a Tube Zipper, but I sort of figured that my Polyphase in envelope mode covers a lot of the same ground.

I think I'm gonna get the BYOC flange when it comes out. I think it is down to that, a flanger hoax, or an MXR, although I'll have to try out a stereo electric mistress (despite it being digital it might still be cool). Flanger hoax is intruiging because of the thru zero flange mode.

I'll tell ya, when I got a Q Tron + I was pretty disappointed with it. Sure it had a lot of features, but it didn't have a deep long rubbery sweep, like the DOD does. You'd think EH woulda made it so it could go crazy with the sweep but they didn't. The DOD is better for the basic envelope sounds, seriously. And they're way cheaper.

I've been using the Poly Phase envelope setting mainly, but lately I've been using the expression mode...

If the BYOC Flangers were available right now, I'd probably already have one...I'm waiting patiently.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.16.2007 01:02 AM

What did you try in the Q-tron + loop? And maybe the new one is better.

I tried nearly everything through it...the thing that bugged me is when you bypass the Q Tron +, it bypasses whatever is in the loop too, so if you have distortion in the loop, it's off when the pedal goes off. I guess that kinda makes sense, but it would be nice to have a switch or something do decide wether or not you wanna bypass what's in the loop too.

I have the feeling the new one isn't going to be any different than the OG ones.

Oh yeah, I kept the wooden box for it when I sold it. :)

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.16.2007 01:44 AM

Nice goin, I wish I had the wooden box that my frequency analyzer probably came in, but I got it 2nd hand.

That looks awesome

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.16.2007 02:52 PM

Yeah it is pretty bitchin

king_buzzo 08.16.2007 02:58 PM

Anyways, I've decided. When I get back I need to get a Superfuzz clone and a NanoVerb, after that if I have the 30 bucks, I'll tell you, but anyways I'll get it later on if i dont have the 30 $$$

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.16.2007 03:09 PM

OK, I'll tell people that the French Toast is on hold. I'd rather sell it to you than anyone else.

nicfit 08.16.2007 03:11 PM

what's the name of the home made thing again, SJIND?

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.16.2007 03:24 PM

The Hari Kari Krishna

CHOUT 08.16.2007 11:24 PM

I might've found a Deluxe Memory Man used for $129 I can't pass up if it's still available.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.16.2007 11:42 PM

Sweet man.

haha, thanks, i just gotta know how old it is and if you had any problems with it and stuff...

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.17.2007 10:56 AM

I don't have any problems, and I don't know exactly how old it is, I traded my danelectro tuna melt for it. It doesn't seem too old.

 Do you think Julian would scam you?

It's a 'vintage' one - made in 2001:rolleyes:

semitonesmile 08.17.2007 02:49 PM

i have no effects for my bass guitar. I plan to get a distortion pedal though!

check it! ---> www.myspace.com/desoulations

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.17.2007 02:54 PM

DOD-250 is nice as hell sounding on bass IMO. You should get one.

So i'm buying a new guitar, and it seems like i got €200 left.
I've been thinking about a Dunlop CryBaby GCB95 and a Big Muff.
Any suggestions? I don't need any superfrickin'killerwierd-effects or something, just some good and useful stuff. You know. Guys. Come on...

If you are going to buy a wah, don't buy a GCB95. They suck tone from your signal really bad. Your clean guitar sound will suffer. Unless you are good with electronics and plan to true-bypass it. Otherwise stay away. You want a true-bypass wah. Trust me. I had a GCB-95.

Get a new Little Big Muff or a BYOC Large Beaverif you are into DIY. I can vouch for the LBM and Chout can vouch for the Large Beaver. They both have Boss style power jacks, which is nice, and have pretty nice sounds. The NYC Big Muff might not be quite what you are looking for.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.19.2007 08:43 PM

BTW, I've got two pedals for sale on teh ebay now:

PB + J Delay http://cgi.ebay.com/used-Danelectro-...QQcmdZViewItem

Chili Dog

CHOUT 08.21.2007 12:34 AM

I got this today:

It sounds awesome. The overdrive channel (which I didn't even buy this for) is awesome and smooth sounding. The true test will be at band practice tomorrow...It is so fucking light!

Also I have one of these being made for me right now (without the decals):

And I will be one of the first on the block to recieve one of the new Memory Mans w/hazari...the store is gonna call me when they come in.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.21.2007 01:36 AM

Amp looks cool, nice that you dig it. I'm telling you though, Fender Hot Rods aren't that great sounding of amps IMO. Don't write off tube amps. There are some that are have a higher awesomeness to cost and weight ratio.

I'm getting the SMM as soon as it comes out too! (and the Holy Stain for that matter)

I just gotta sell those 3 pedals, that guitar (I'm refinishing it green with a black pickguard, I think it might sell better that way) and this bass:

That's a sweetly beastly looking bass.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.21.2007 02:00 AM

It is pretty cool. Sounds cool with OD. It just needs a new nut really (see if you can figure out how that relates to the duct tape markers on the neck!)

Just a project I don't feel like completing.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.21.2007 12:51 PM

I got on a pre-order list for the SMM w H and the Holy Stain. Yay :)

Now to sell my shit.

Oh, and I'm getting a mystery pedal in the mail this week from Beavis Audio Research :)

king_buzzo 08.21.2007 01:47 PM

haha awesome, i'm interested in both of them, im just afraid that theres a chance for the holy stain to end up being like the worm...

You can go ahead and put the french toast on ebay as well, i dont have the money for it now and i probably wont in like a month.

Sooo, this is it:

an updated shot. ...

Now, what else should I go for??? I'm ordering the nanoverb sometime soon, so i'll have like 80-90 euros to spend.

Should I go for a Phase 90 or a Stereo Pulsar? Or something else??? suggestions!!! nauw!!!

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.21.2007 02:01 PM

Either would be a cool addition to your board man.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.21.2007 02:02 PM

That's cool man. I don't think I'm gonna put in on the 'bay quite yet though. I'll see if I can sell it to some local fuzz heads.

king_buzzo 08.21.2007 02:03 PM

yeah i guess, but does the pulsar go crazy like in this video?? http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...76729199730268

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.21.2007 02:09 PM

Yeah it does.

I need a tremolo.

No fears on the Stain being like the Worm. It is a puretube design. I'm sure it will be pretty over the top. It is only 100 dollars and has Holy grail's room and hall settings plus a bunch of other stuff. I'm sure it will be cooler than the Worm.

king_buzzo 08.21.2007 02:39 PM

Well, i hope that the holy stain is okay, might try it someday... for the price, its great...

thats kinda sucky that the pulsar is like that.... i wanted a proper trem and not a noise tool... whatever....

king_buzzo 08.22.2007 02:46 PM

so, i'm getting this geezer:

just cause of the reverse reverb (non linear). I bet the fucker will make noise. BUT I got one question, i want a footswitch on it and i hear that only a non latching footswitch works for it. so i asked around on HC and some guy said this will be good for it, the loopmaster switch:

its a tap tempo switch, so, is that non latching?

Get the Behringer Ultra Tremolo- it's exactly the same as a BOSS Tremolo except the casing is shitty- but even if you broke the casing, buying a replacement pedal would still be cheaper than buying a BOSS first time..

I have the behringer and it's sweet and simple.
