prefuse 73 had those 2 good albums, didn't they? "One Word Extinguisher" and "Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives"
I'm not that sure about the later output, though.

prefuse 73 can be hit and miss but generally he is really good ad also excellent live if you get the chance.

Prefuse 73 I love already! His latest album (Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian) is in my top 3 of the year, I find it so great. He's playing in Paris next week with both Prefuse 73 and Diamond Watch Wrists (his project with Zach Hill of Hella, which is also great), I'd like to go ...

well I only know Diamond Watch Wrists, but I certainly like it. Quite not you would expect from that collab though

al shabbray 06.22.2009 05:53 PM

savath and savallas is pretty different too. folky, spanish songs, which make lyric wise no sense most of the time. but they make a warm feeling inside my stomach. I like it, not everytime, but truly beautiful moments. its insane in how much styles this guy is good in

SYRFox 06.23.2009 12:11 AM

truth!
have you heard about his new project, that risil collective? the first album will be out in a month and it apparently involves tyondai braxton (battles...), john mcentire (tortoise), zach hill (hella), puyuelo muns (savath and savallas), alejandra deheza and benjamin curtis(school of seven bells). three albums are already announced, with the lineup being different on each one.

(more on this here: http://pitchfork.com/news/35612-pref...il-collective/)

i think it sounds awesome, can't wait to hear it.

july sounds like a rad month... new clark, new oneida (triple album!), that risil collective, the new rainbow arabia ep...

So I went to see Depeche Mode yesterday and it was like a giant warp into my 80s childhood ... all those great old hits (Never Let Me Down Again, Strangelove, Master and Servant, Fly on the Windscreen, Waiting for the Night, Walking in my Shoes, Enjoy the Silence, etc etc) and Dave seemed to be in a great shape and form and sang very well ... wonderful concert!!!

al shabbray 06.24.2009 08:06 PM

anyways, there was a MASSIVE downpour, i was soaking wet, but the atmosphere was awesome and I danced and jumped all over the place in the rain. Even both Dave and Martin said we were a wonderful and intense audience.

al shabbray 06.25.2009 10:37 AM

^^^with rain it sounds even greater.
