Hmm..................

atsonicpark 12.31.2008 09:25 AM

Sorry, can't think of anything.

noisereductions 12.31.2008 09:27 AM

I liked Old School. I liked Anchorman. I liked Stranger Than Fiction. I liked him in Winter Crossing. But more than films, I thought he was great on SNL.

atsonicpark 12.31.2008 09:28 AM

Old School is tolerable, but I thougth he was the worst part. Hated Anchorman with every inch of my being. Never saw Stranger than Fiction, though I dunno if I could take him seriously anyway.

Him and Ben Stiller and Jack Black are the worst 3 "comedians" in the history of films.

noisereductions 12.31.2008 09:45 AM

I disagree. I think all 3 are neither the best nor the worst.

noisereductions 12.31.2008 09:45 AM

Oh, and Elf. I like Elf a lot, too.

atsonicpark 12.31.2008 09:46 AM

Hah. They're at the bottom of the barrel at least.

noisereductions 12.31.2008 10:04 AM

Are they comedic geniuses? Not really. Are they funnier than Carrot Top? Friggin' A.

Rob Instigator 12.31.2008 10:10 AM

I will agree on the suckitude of will ferrell (mainly because he sticks too much to his bumbling child-man persona) and of the insanely terrible comedic stylings of Ben Stiller.
I only like him when he is playing straight, like in tannenbaums, and in mystery men.

Rob Instigator 12.31.2008 10:11 AM

Jack Black is a live performer, and that is where he shines. on film, he is asked to play his "persona" and it tends to suck.

I liked him in high fidelity and in school of rock, because they let him play a character more.

noisereductions 12.31.2008 10:17 AM

Jack Black was great in High Fidelity. And yeah, Stiller was excellent in Tanenbaums.

fugazifan 12.31.2008 11:09 AM

deliverance
very very good

noisereductions 12.31.2008 11:43 AM

By the way, the WORST comedians are those blue collar tour people. Larry the Cableguy and all that shit. Horrendous.

mangajunky 12.31.2008 11:48 AM

This was totally cool.

Follow Basquiat around as he picks up a model, gets kicked out of his apartment and sees performances by the Lounge Lizards, the Plastics, DNA, James White and the Blacks and Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
It's a little slow but it's worth the many payoffs. I'd never listened to the Plastics before - I'll pick something up from them now.

Ben Stiller sucks.

Jack Black isn't funny but he's a likable character at least.

atsonicpark 12.31.2008 12:55 PM

That's how I feel too.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 12.31.2008 04:30 PM

Mister Lonely.

noisereductions 12.31.2008 04:38 PM

^ I wanna see that.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 12.31.2008 07:08 PM

You definitely should. It's nowhere near my personal favorite from Korine, but some of it's imagery is simply outstanding.

Stroszek.
