Ive tried that once when I still got my teenage-really-long-hair-phase.
and I think I ve tried it the way you describe it. so my hair seems to be too long/thick for being held by just one stick maybe

oh yeah i did that when the hair in my neck wasn't this short yet. it works pretty well with curls...
