Rarefied Air
32 times in NBA Finals History has a team trailed 3-1 and ZERO times has any of those 32 opportunities resulted in a forced Game 7.

Vegas thinks NBA History will be made as the Cavs are currently -2 to -2.5

Kyrie Irving scored more points in Game 5 than Kobe Bryant ever has in a Finals game.

LeBron has more 40+ point Finals performances than Kareem, Kobe, and Magic do......combined!

Before Game 5, LeBrons BEST game when facing ELIMINATION Game 6 at Boston in 2012 (45/15/5).

EVERYONE knows that Kyrie & LeBron each scoring 40+ had never happened in a NBA Finals Game before......just how rare was this accomplishment? It was just the 5th time in NBA Post Season History that two teammates each scored 40+ in a Game.

Elgin Baylor and Jerry West hold the record with 86 points in a playoff game.
Akeem Olajuwon & Sleep Floyd
Hakeem Olajuwon & Clyde Drexler
Reggie Miller & Jalen Rose
Kyrie Irving & LeBron James (Finals Game)

LeBron was the 1st player since 2009 (Kobe Bryant) w/18+ FGAs in the first half of an Finals Game.

Is there anyone else in the NBA that would be allowed to throw the ball 50 feet in the air out of frustration and not receive a T?

Kevin Love played 33 minutes = 2 points & 3 rebounds......if Coach Lue is going to leave K. Love on the floor this series, he just can’t stand in the corner.

JR Smith's passing off drives has been kinda impressive

Big mistake by Coach Kerr staying too long with tiny lineup......it was like Kerr was trying extra hard to prove how valuable Dray is or something???

As cool as Curry's nonchalant passes have been, they are now just about always resulting in points on the other end.

Warriors are 68-8 with Curry, Draymond, and Iguodala in the lineup. Were 57-4 in the regular season......Golden State have yet to lose two Games in a row.

Bytor Peltor 06.18.2016 08:35 PM

The Game was OVER by the end of the 1st Quarter

Warriors haven't won a game since this happened.

For the 19th time in league history, the NBA Finals reaches a Game 7

Home teams 15-3 all-time in NBA Finals Game 7s.

After 6 Games the unthinkable is happening......Steph Curry is slowly becoming the unlikable player in a series vs Lebron James = REMARKABLE

LeBron James has had 188 touches the past two games and turned the ball over 3 times.

In the Finals, LeBron James leads all players in points, rebounds (tied with Tristan), assists, blocks and steals.

Total points through 6 games

Warriors: 610

Cavaliers: 610

yet EVERY GAME has been decided by double digits......EVERY WINNER has scored at least 100+ points......by comparison, in the 1994 NBA Finals between NY Knicks and the Houston Rockets, all 7 Games were decided by single digits and the winner NEVER reached 100 points.

The Cavs have outscored the Warriors by 58 points in the paint, but the Warriors have outscored them by 87 points from 3-point range.

Game 7 will determine if this picture is just a singular moment or THE moment that determined the series!!!

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 06.18.2016 08:48 PM

bullshit. cavs beat warriors by 30 and 14 WITH DRAYMOND on the court. his suspension wasn't what turned the series. LeBron channeling his 2015 Finals is what got it to 7. period. warriors obviously still favored but Cavs have figured out several things. they are passing and rotating out pd Warriors switching to get the match ups they want, in particular attacking Curry frequently and often.

indeed Bomani Jones said, "i am having trouble thinking that a player can be the best in the game and also a total mark on the defensive end."

Who/what are you screaming bullshit about? Draymond?? The last pic in my previous post was from Game 6 when Steph was being ejected. My comments aren't about anyone being ejected, but the smirk on Lou's face. Notice how Curry is looking back at him......that's what my comments are about.

i thought this picture was in relation to the Draymond Green suspension. other than that i had no qualms with your post.

the entire world thinks Curry's ejection is funny. Tyron Lue just being honest. i think warriors already obviously favored but it would not be surprising if Cavs pulled off the upset

Bytor Peltor 06.19.2016 03:52 AM

Best I can recolate, Draymond was never ejected from a game in these Finals. He was suspended from Game 5 due to the groin punch in Game 4, but the league didn't suspend Draymond until the following day.

yes i said suspension. many GS "fans" are blaming Cleveland's come back on that suspension as if somehow Cavs didn't beat Dubs by 30 and 14 with Draymond on the floor including in Oakland.

as to lue laughing at Curry, curry was acting like a petulant little boy, he deserved to get laughed at for acting so childish. if Warriors win today it has nothing to do with it, it will be because they are the better team simple as that.
sorry if the defending champs need bulletin board material to get pumped enough to win Game 7 of the Finals on their floor then they probably already lost

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 06.19.2016 09:59 PM

Fuck The Internet Fuck The World Lebron Just Humiliated Everyone

Bytor Peltor 06.19.2016 10:15 PM

Wow Wow Wow, just WOW!

Golden State didn’t score at home in the last 4:39 of the game = UNREAL!

Warriors: 9th loss this postseason; lost 9 games the entire regular season.

Curry's ability to convince himself he can pass through defenders' bodies is never daunted by the evidence.

Golden State's 303 made 3-pointers this postseason, the first team to surpass 300 threes in a single postseason

Coach Kerr actually put Festus back in the game up 87-83 to give Barnes who got enough rest on the pine the last 2 weeks a breather???

Also, Coach Kerr has to answer why Anderson Varejao played the majority of the third quarter......Varejao played more minutes this series than Channing Frye, who expected that?

Can't say enough about how Bogut's absence loomed large.

KYRIFUCKINGDICULOUS was KYRUTHLESS

^^^the above just ended up bing a singular moment, THE MOMENT that clinched the series and one of the greatest moments in NBA Finals History:

Bytor Peltor 06.20.2016 08:36 AM

Look at the time = 1:54 & look where LeBron is (half court)

Look at the time = 1:53 and look where LeBron is (inside 3-point line)

Look at the time = 1:52 and look at LeBron's arm/hand (at the rim)

Rob Instigator 06.20.2016 02:27 PM

I had seen this before. Back in the day, Houston was called Choke City because they gave up leads agains the Phoenix Suns that made the series 1-3 in favor of Phoenix. When Phoenix could not close it out for good in game 5, I knew Houston would win the series.

The same thing was felt by yours truly watching game 5. I thought ":these idiots in Golden State are letting their one opportunity slip away." Losing that game 5 deflated the Warriors, and set up all the shit from game 6 and 7.

They did not deserve to win. Good on the Cavs for taking it to them.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 06.20.2016 04:35 PM

Difference is i only trash talk teams, you always like to make it some personal shit. Its all goos bro i just wish you'd actually for once own up to your passive aggressive dickhead bullshit just once.

I ain't never shy to eat my crow meanwhile you be shit talking every year where the fuck is your team at?

And let's not forget the negative feedback with this enduring message:
"don't be a bitch you breaking cardinal rule of trash talk by gloating on the bandwagon. where your rockets at? at least my heat made the semis yo"

I could go back to Clippers/Rockets last year, but I don't have the time. I'm tired of dealing with your juvenile ways......telling me not to gloat when this is all you do.

You see, I would have never posted the salsa dancing pic after the game if you wouldn't have gloated about it before the game. Because you did so - YES - I had a bit of fun with my reply......at your expense......only because you mouthed off about it before.

NOW - I have made observations between games about things I see unfolding or possibly happening, but those have been about whats occurring on the court and never anything personal at you.

LeBron dominated the last three games like he has never played before. It was a sight to behold, something for the ages, a thing legends are made of. YES - LeBron has always been good, but this was something different, he appreciated this one more and I do believe it meant more to him because Cleveland dethroned the Champions who had also won more games than anyone in the History of the NBA......you can see the difference:

I'm disappointed how Steph acted & played during the last three games. He did not show the killer instinct that he had so easily been able to do in series past. However, I'm a betting man and I had $50 on the Cleveland money-line which paid me $80 : )

Anyway, I've enjoyed some of our back-and-fourth over the NBA Seasons and I've appreciated some of your takes, but I've never cursed you, negative repped you or deleted any of my post concerning you.

Sure, I'll be happy to eat some crow, but not because I predicted or even wanted Golden State to win.

Let me add......next season if Milwaukee, Phoenix or Denver (anyone other than Dallas) go on a run like Golden State did this year, I'll be posting about here. NOT because I'm on a bandwagon......simply because it's happening!

The end of an era like no other:

Only 3 players have won: Wooden Award, Rookie of the Year, MVP, Finals MVP, All-Star Game MVP

Larry Bird, Michael Jordan & Tim Duncan

Steve Kerr on his pal Timmy: "Just a phenomenal teammate. A superstar with the humility of someone who just feels lucky to be in the league"

Tim Duncan and a very young Chris Paul.

Shaquille O'Neal on the retirement of longtime rival Tim Duncan: "Greatest power forward ever. Unbreakable power forward."

Tim Duncan made a living going glass in his career. No NBA player was nearly as effective with the bank shot.

Tim Duncan retires. No statement. No letter. Just a brief Spurs release: 1,072-438 (.710) record. Five championships. Goodbye No. 21.

The EXTREME of two oposites......one heck of a HOF class.

Just a small hand full of player remain in the NBA that played against the likes of: Jordan, Dream, Stockton & Malone.

The Houston Rockets just defeated the OKC Thunder for the second time in three games this season.

Russell Westbrook scored 49 points, making a carrier high eight 3-pointers.

James Harden missed his fourth straight triple double by two rebounds.

NBA History was made tonight:

James Harden debuted his new Adidas Harden Vol. 1 "Gila Monster" vs. OKC

In San Antonio Spurs News......in 56% of their games this season (20 of 36 games), the Spurs have led by 15 or more points.
The Spurs are 19-0 when leading by 15.

Cleveland Cavaliers have been my team since the '80's. They will repeat this year, cuz NO ONE can fuk with Lebron !!! Akron, Ohio holla !!!

This past Friday night during Super Bowl week in Houston, The Rockets retired Yao Mings jersey:

James Harden scored his 10,000 point in a Rockets jersey that night.

Bytor Peltor 02.07.2017 10:10 AM

Charles Barkley mopped the floor with James last week. LeBron's comments, "not going to destroy my legacy," is the prelude to his "carrier" if he doesn't ever win / defend Back-2-Back Championships. James hit a big shot last night, but the Cavaliers are not far from imploding......at least until the trade deadline passes.

With the unofficial start of the NBA's 2nd Half of the Season starting tonight, I thought I would post the current standings......last years are posted for comparison:

East Top 5
01. Cleveland 39-16
02. Boston 37-20
03. Washington 34-21
04. Toronto 33-24
05. Atlanta 32-24 (hey hey Dwight Howard)

Brooklyn 9-47

West Top 5
01. Golden State 47-9
02. San Antonio 43-13
03. Houston 40-18
04. Clippers 35-21
05. Utah 35-22

West Bottom 2
Lakers 19-39
Suns 18-39

To a degree, the East totals are somewhat skewed with Brooklyn only having nine wins. By comparison, the West worst team, Phoenix, have double the amount of wins.

The NBA Trade deadline is 30 minutes away (3pm EST), I don't think the Houston Rockets are done dealing.

Such a fun Monday night in the NBA:

Kawhi Leonard Drug Tested After Win Against Houston

Tonight we learned: The Celtics Are Really The Clippers And The Clippers Are Really The Celtics

For the first time since February 2013, Chris Paul had more turnovers than assists.

Clippers scored 73 points in the second half. They scored 43 points in the first half, and then dropped 41 in the fourth quarter.

One minute in to his Cleveland Cavalier debut, Andrew Bogut season comes to a END.

Going back to Jazz at Clippers Game 7 Sunday

Paul Pierce played his final NBA game:
top 15 in all time scoring
top 5 in 3 point shooting
NBA Finals MVP

Clippers losing 3 out of 4 at home......Jazz played a mentally tough while the Clippers were polar opposite. Such a BIG win for the Jazz, especially for the franchise going forward.

Everything CP3 was in New Orleans, he has failed to be in LA......end of an Era?

Disregarding everything else, losing 3 out of 4 at home in a playoff series is the final straw to Doc being gone!

Ernie - "...from the Alamo City."
Chuck - "That's where everybody died, at the Alamo, right?

Despite a 27 point blowout......Pop was craking postgame jokes:
Reporter - "Can you tell us what just happened?"
Pop - "We lost. They won and played better."

DOMINATION = Rockets going up 22 points 15 minutes into the game and NEVER led by less than that the rest of the game......at one point, the Rockets led by 40 points!

DOMINATION = Rockets led 69-39 at Halftime......Spurs didn't score their 69th point until 10:47 minutes left in the 4th Quarter.

Spurs have given up most threes in their playoff history

Today, many will be yada-yada-yadaing the Rockets offense and setting the NBA playoff record with 22 3-pointers made (with Reggie Miller calling the game)......but the Rockets held the Spurs to 37% shooting for the game.

Every Rocket scored:

As everyone expected, The Spurs bounced back in the 2nd Game in San Antonio.

Simply put, the Rockets 3 ball just wasn't falling like it was in Game 1. The Spurs slowed it down to a speed they were comfortable with.

Harden 3-16......missed 13 shots = Popovich put Kawhi on Harden because he's his best defender. "It's not rocket science." pun unintentional???

Harden asked about the challenge that facing Leonard defensively poses for him - Harden shakes his head & says, "I just missed layups"

Harden had a bunch of assists, but all of his pass looks were to the rim, Spurs collapsed and he didn’t make them pay for it kicking out.

D'Antoni said Harden tweaked a hip, but said it was not an issue. "He's fine."

"The hustle game was the difference, offensive rebounds, loose balls. We didn't get as many stops as we needed," Ryan Anderson.

Leonard helping out way more off the corner than in Game 1

However, one of the postseason GREATS suffered a season (possible career) ending injury:

Manu said even after he spoke with Tony, he still couldn't put weight on the leg.

Pop on Parker's injury: "It's not good."

Game 3 TONIGHT in Houston

Bytor Peltor 05.07.2017 05:18 PM

Rockets looked pathetic at home in Game 3. Harden played selfish and wasn't all that involved.

PROPS to Pop for having the Spurs slow it down......how slow? Games 2 & 3 were the first time this season (regular or post) that the Rockets were held to fewer than 100 points in B2B games.

It's going to be a short series if the Refs don't call Kawhi pushing off when he generates space to get his shot off:

LeBron James has a 23-2 career record when his team goes up by 10 or more at any points in potential series clinching games......playing 46 minutes.

There was plenty of Lebitch crying:

FIVE of the worst minutes Lebron has ever played were today in the 4th
Of course, some serious MONSTER D was being played against Lebron

Toronto gave up 2017 1st rounder, two 2nd rounders, & Terrence Ross to get Ibaka and Tucker who both could leave this summer after getting swept = OUCH!

Kyle Lowry on if he's was going to play today: "Nope" = may NEVE suit up for Toronto again......hard to offer a guy turning 32 the 5th year max deal.
