I've never realised before that Americans can add "pyjamas" to the list of things they mis-spell.

al shabbray 09.15.2008 05:25 AM

insert italian instead of american and you are right, pookie :)

that one doesn't so much bother me because it's not associated with any kind of spelling rule

i insist upon using colour, flavour etc because no one in any otherenglish-speaking countryspells them without the letter U except for this ass-backwards nation.

MellySingsDoom 09.15.2008 05:27 AM

Am currently wearing a Ben Sherman long-sleeved shirt, a pair of light blue jeans I bought in Melbourne, and some bog-standard trainers.

Pookie 09.15.2008 05:27 AM

al shabbray: What the hell are you talking about?

Cantankerous 09.15.2008 05:27 AM

who, me?

the fact that in america pajamas is spelled differently but it doesn't bother me because there is no rule regarding whether to use a z or an s (realize/realise) or to use a u or not (colour/color) because it's not like part of a set of words that have the same suffix? something like that

al shabbray 09.15.2008 05:27 AM

bout nicfits misspelling

Pookie 09.15.2008 05:29 AM

I don't think I'm aware of nicfit's posts. Is he a well known mispeller?

Cantankerous 09.15.2008 05:30 AM

i have to add that i like "pyjamas" better than "pajamas" just because of the way it looks in print/type

MellySingsDoom 09.15.2008 05:30 AM

Pookie - He's a well-known Italian, for sure. So Mr Pookie, what threads are you sporting today?

Re the pyjamas/pajamas thing - I've seen it spelled both ways here in the UK recently - it's one of those words that has a flexible spelling in the colloquial sense.

nicfit 09.15.2008 05:30 AM

miss spelling?

what did I do?

al shabbray 09.15.2008 05:31 AM

no, I just thought you were referring to his post which is on top of site 51 where he spelled pajama...
and thats what you saw first a few minutes before...when you clicked "last page" in this thread

I'm not really bothered about differences in spelling, I was being flippant. But I have never noticed pyjamas spelt any other way before.

Same as yesterday more or less. Pseudo Converse, some pseudo (can't think what they're called*) trousers from M&S, and a polo shirt type thingy from Tu.

It's my bargain basement look.

*cargo? Maybe.

Cantankerous 09.15.2008 05:35 AM

the only thing that bothers/irritates me is the complete bastardisation of the english language mostly at the hands of the american people

ploesj 09.15.2008 05:55 AM

blue jeans, a grey-and-white striped top and black converse sneakers. my dogwalking uniform.

RdTv 09.15.2008 07:19 AM

Levi's
Moss green slip on vans
Navy blue Air Force shirt from thrift store
Undefinable color sweater/hoodie.

gmku 09.17.2008 03:42 PM

You know, I could really use some help keeping this thread alive.

Anyway, I'm wearing these (Onitsuka Tiger by Asics Mexico 66), easily the koolest shoes I've ever worn. They go with freaking everything. They're flat and sleek, and fit like a slipper.

I'm also wearing a blue crewneck tee shirt and Levis 514 jeans.

ploesj 09.17.2008 03:47 PM

black harem pants, white tank top, grey cardigan. i'm barefoot.

gmku 09.17.2008 03:49 PM

Yay, cardigan! Can't wait for it to cool down enough here so's I can wear mine. Though today I did wear my short-zip jacket.

You don't eat. You don't wear shoes.

Good lord, child, but you're no fun.

Cantankerous 09.17.2008 03:56 PM

i do wear shoes but only if i have to go somewhere that requires shoes, like the grocery store. not 7-11 though. they don't care.

gmku 09.17.2008 03:57 PM

I bought a Gap pinstriped blazer today so I can look like a hipster when I'm out and about in my tee shirt and jeans.

Pookie 09.17.2008 03:58 PM

Good lord.

Well, duh. Who wears shoes around the house?

McQueen favored desert boots, by the way.

EMMAh 09.17.2008 04:00 PM

If the weather isn't shit, my dad goes everywhere without shoes. He keeps sandals in the car for when he has to go into a store or something. Oh, and he wear boots when he's roofing, because it would be dumb to do that bare foot.

His feet are like hobbit feet (only not so hairy)

Pookie 09.17.2008 04:01 PM

It's over 30.

Needless to say, I had the last laugh.

which mcqueen are we talking about?

i'm talking about this one:

gmku 09.17.2008 04:02 PM

He drives barefooted?!

A man should always protect his feet when he's out. A shoe is a necessity.
