(I'm not trying to be a cunt it's just my natural instinct to critique and I think it could help you if you wanted to get into photography more. Please don't be offended by me I'm only trying to help :) )
The composition of the first one is interesting but it's kind of bland. The second one also doesn't do anything for me. But the last one I really like how it's composed and framed by the objects.

Well if you shoot a lot every day you'll get better and better. You definitely show good potential and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
I sound like some fucking official authority figure or some shit..
And aren't we all truth suckers?

That's too bad that you can't watch all the videos. Is it expensive to get into the place? Like if it's more than a one day thing could you not go back and catch up on what you missed?

The ticket for both venues (you can buy one at a time, but it costs more) is just 8 euros for students.
I don't think they'd readmit you on a different day without paying again, and I never considered going back to see all the vids mainly becuz I'm not a big fan of video art in that "context", and some vids are HOURS long. I think they should make a "better" selection and try to give everyone the possibility to watch everything. Shorter videos would help.
Hope there will be less videos and more "interactive" stuff @ the Arsenale, but even if the exhibition won't be that great, I'll be happy coz I love that place, even "empty".

They were going to take some darts from the boards.
Notice how all the ones threw too high are all there ha ha nobody could take them down. There were 2 little boys (probably 4-5 yo) running around in front of people throwing darts all the time, I was so afraid to hit one of them in the head that I refused to try.

You've got a weird ceiling fan by the way. Unless it's broken, then it would be almost the same as mine.

EMMAh 10.30.2007 11:07 PM

Old pictures

Anngella 10.30.2007 11:53 PM

Savage Clone 10.30.2007 11:54 PM

That dog looks incredibly human.

That's because she is human, a small child trapped in a dogs body.

Silly kitty. Well that means only one thing then, we have the same ceiling fan. Craziness.

EMMAh 10.31.2007 02:46 PM

There's these too

nicfit 10.31.2007 02:51 PM

the dog and the one with the "greyer" flower are great!
which kind of film/developing process did you use? They have a really strange vintage effect, like the old pics in cemeteries (ha! this is a compliment, even if it may sound weird..) like some kind of oxidation.
If those 2 are digital the effect is even weirder...

Anngella 10.31.2007 02:54 PM

Those are so awesome, EMMAh. I'm jealous.

EMMAh 10.31.2007 03:22 PM

I don't remember what kind of film I used, but the processing was pretty normal. Just the Fuji machine at my work haha. They're grainier than they should be because we scan negatives at 2mp and I did a bit of cropping.
I miss using film. When my friend went to BC and I helped him pack he gave me a couple of rolls so I should get on using them.

screamingskull 11.01.2007 12:08 PM

your macro shots are fucking great Emma, here are a few of mine from my first year at college, Don't laugh, i wasn't very good back then.

EMMAh 11.01.2007 12:39 PM

I like the first one the best :D The last one is really freaking neat though.
I wish I had a macro lens for my Pentax, all I have is a doubler. There was a zoom lens too but there was mold in it so it wasn't worth repairing.

why would i laugh? those are awesome. these two are my favorites. they have good composition and work on an abstract level as well as on a figurative level. i don't know if that's what you were going for, that's just what i like about them.
