I'd be first in line to get a guit or bass (even if they're not great, I want to mod them), but overseas shipping + import taxes are way too high for big packages :( :( :( ...

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.19.2007 02:01 PM

The sucks :(

I gave this girl a really good price on a hollowbody bass of mine (75 dollars_, and she keeps telling me what day she can check it out, but then ended up having to cancel. This has been going on for like a month.

So I put it in my parent's antique shop for twice that. ;)

nicfit 09.19.2007 02:03 PM

uh, which bass is that?
feck, shipping would be around 120 dollars, though.... according to ebay auctions and stuff.

king_buzzo 09.19.2007 03:44 PM

put a fuzz probe up my ass.

It's an old hollowbody japanese bass that needs a new nut. But yeah, it isn't worth what you'd pay for it after shipping. Atleast IMO. I don't know what the market is like in italy.

king_buzzo 09.20.2007 02:10 AM

still waiting on this fucking hm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, the euro-dollar rate is quite convenient nowadays, that's a plus... I'll keep you updated when I'll have some spare money to "invest", but I can't promise nothing... would you mind pming me some pics, just to get a better idea of the thing?
The market here isn't that great, actually... pretty high prices for everything. That's why I'm kinda tempted :D.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.20.2007 12:06 PM

I think I have a pic of it somewhere on my comp

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.20.2007 12:12 PM

Here's a pic.

Yes that is duct tape fret markers on the even frets, the nut is cracked, so playing hard makes the strings pop out, so I put a capo on for playing live and everything moved up a fret, so those helped me remember.

I took them off a few weeks ago.

king_buzzo 09.21.2007 01:40 AM

FUCKING IDIOTS. the hm wasnt even shipped ouside us but stupid people at the post office only said that it was supposed to go to canda. it just came back to the guy who sold it to me and he's just gonna resend it/

motherfucking post offices. i mean, could you BE any dumber?

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.21.2007 01:56 AM

Sucks

king_buzzo 09.21.2007 02:02 AM

he's sending it today, just replied to my pm...

well anyways, im not gonna be able to play it for another 2 weeks cause i'm not gonna be alone at home. (i have this policy, noise shoegaze whatever's loud is only when no ones at home, cause every 2 seconds its 'turn it down'

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.21.2007 11:39 AM

Yeah, it sucks having to have your amp on 1 all the time doesn't it?

I want to get an epiphone valve jr. for late night playing

king_buzzo 09.21.2007 11:45 AM

^ i dislike the valve jrs theyre okay quiet but it sucks that thye break up so damn fast.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.21.2007 11:52 AM

I liked the OD on the one I played in a Store. I just turned it up and played Mekon's Where Were You? and it was great.

Although an Orange Tiny Terror would be sweet.

king_buzzo 09.21.2007 04:44 PM

yep, tiny terrors own, even albini uses them

I've got a Roland Cube30, they go for around 200$ used (that's how I paid for mine, though I've seen them at 225 on craigslist). Nice little amp that works well with headphones and doesn't sound too loud - but can, according to reviews on Harmony-Central. They've got some effects included, which are mostly bleh, as you can't toy around with them much but for the money, this amp rocks my boat so far.

I've seen a used tiny terror on sale recently at 700$, not sure how much they are at list price though.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.21.2007 05:47 PM

Yeah but they are like 500 dollas. :(

I'm sure there is a cheaper low-wattage 15 watt tube amp.

I'd like to get a Fender Champ sometime. Those are pretty cool.

king_buzzo 09.22.2007 08:26 AM

^ yep, not you have the same problem as me, theres no good 15 watt practise amps over the price of 500 bucks

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.22.2007 10:22 AM

I want an electro-harmonix freedom amp but they are now discontinued.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.25.2007 04:07 PM

I just got a Sovtek Green Big Muff Pi for 40 bucks!

:D

CHOUT 09.25.2007 10:58 PM

Do you like it...comparisions?

king_buzzo 09.26.2007 02:37 AM

damnations!

he still didnt send it because he didnt see my message, he shall do it soon though.

edward_sick 09.26.2007 03:32 AM

i hae a peavy rage 158 and for as small as it is it gets REALLY loud. in fact i cant really plug into it at night without headphones because it gets loud quick.
i suggest getting a very very small amp.
these would be perfectly fine

It's cool, I think I gotta try a fresh battery in it.

It seems to have nowhere near as much gain as the Little Big Muff. Cleans up a lot when I play softly, but then crunches nice when I play. It's a bit sputtery and muddier on the more bassy settings(it has more mids) but sounds nice on chords the more trebley settings- not as fizzy. Much better on chords than my Little Big Muff.

I'll post some clips later.

king_buzzo 10.11.2007 02:01 AM

ahh! i forgot this existed!!

bump.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 10.11.2007 02:02 AM

I want a micro POG.

CHOUT 10.13.2007 01:57 AM

Get a micro pog!

I wanted a SMMH and I got one!!! But you already know that Julian...can't belive how lot it took to get 'em in here.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 10.13.2007 01:57 AM

BTW, I got an E-MU MP7 at a flea market the other day.

Need another drum machine CHOUT that doubles as a synth? *nudge*

I'll get one eventually. It is in my FX pedal plan.

I'm selling some stuff and I think I'm gonna buy a used stereo Pulsar, get my amp repaired (Again! argh), fix up some of my guitars, buy some new strings, go xmas shopping, then probably sometime around xmas I'll have enough money for a Micro POG. I might ask for a Holy Stain for Xmas, might ask for Pens tickets. I don't know. A guitar pedal is more practical.

There was a micro pog used up already on ebay recently.

I also bought some of those George L's pedal kit cables when it go the smmh...they're pretty nice...I gotta go back and get a few more jacks to complete my board.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 10.13.2007 12:04 PM

George L's just seem so expensive. Might as well buy a 100 feet of cable from a bulk seller than buy a bunch of decent jacks.

I could make some nice guitar cables that way too.

king_buzzo 10.13.2007 04:45 PM

Ahh so i checked out the new EHX's at the store today

not the new new ones but the nano ones.

they never had them before so i went in this other store which had them and i gotta say, they look so much different than in all the pictures, the knobs and the boxes are look so much better.

so i got this dd400 behringer shit to circuit bend for some shitty project. hope it will be fun

ohhh yeah

i want a holy stain!!

They're actually the same price as the planet waves kits...I've heard a few bad things about those...only time will tell though.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 10.17.2007 11:49 PM

My next pedal is going to be the micro Pulsar. I must have some tremolo!

Also, I found a cool old harmonica tube amp on CL. I think I'm gonna buy it.

soapbars 10.18.2007 04:39 AM

cant the frequency analyzer do tremolo sounds?

guitar7080 10.18.2007 07:01 AM

Boss pitch sifter/delay - crazy pedal.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 10.20.2007 06:07 AM

No the VCO in the frequency analyzer doesn't go that slow.

finding nobody 10.20.2007 10:23 AM

I've been having a lot of fun hooking up my keyboard through my polychorus.
It makes the electronic drums sound sick

king_buzzo 10.20.2007 01:48 PM

Went to a store today....

I liked the ice blue jaguar that i tried. Sounded fucking aweosme through a blues deluxe.

Turbo rat > rat2 imo. i gotta have both.

is the blues junior the same thing as the deluxe but smaller?
