I love that scene near the beginning where they exit the train--the look on Clooney's face is great.

i can't remember why i didn't like it, it's nowhere near on the level of katsuhiro otomo's other stuff.

The thing that has me laughing the hardest was Clooney sleeping with the hair net on. Got have my Dapper Dan....

chicka 05.26.2010 01:06 PM

disturbing subject matter. Beautifully shot and told. I wanted to club the old hag that ran the place.

My brother's girlfriend teaches at a private school and they went to the kid's prom, and the theme was "steampunk" of all things.

after the SF fog has cleared, it ends up being an action-hero movie.

fun visuals & all but don't expect to eject the dvd with your mind blown

I loved it, but then again I haven't seen it since I saw it in theatres in seventh grade. From what I remember though, the above description is accurate enough, it is immensely enjoyable.

Been getting into Krzystof Kiewslowski...

Ghostchase 05.27.2010 04:56 PM

Interesting and pretty scary. Americans snatched up the rights for a remake, I'm guessing its gonna be a horrible attempt as usual, as they drag whatever made this movie enjoyable thru the mud.

I actually really liked Adventureland. But wtf do I know? I love Death Proof. (guy).

atsonicpark 05.28.2010 07:22 AM

It just annoyed me, I watched it at 3 AM and was falling asleep so I might have to give it a go, but everything about it just rubbed me the wrong way.

noisereductions 05.28.2010 07:31 AM

maybe the 3AM was part of it. It just ended up being a lot different than I expected (so maybe that's why I liked it so much). I just thought that Jesse's character was played pretty well (for not being Michael Sera, haha) and well Kristin Stewert is awesome. And Bill from Freaks & Geeks was in it!! And Falco.

Righteous Kill! Two fucking overthehill actors finally and truly become WASHED UP

a fucking shit movie!!!! That shit was so TERRIBLE!!!!! watching pacino's "bouffant" hairpiece stand about 6 inches above the top of his shrivelled head....

fucking horror

diegobra 05.28.2010 07:32 PM

the castle of howl, or something like that

GeneticKiss 05.30.2010 12:20 AM

I liked Righteous Kill until the ending.

I like Al Pacino better as an actor than Robert De Niro.

been watching Season 2 of True Blood.

Jeremy 05.30.2010 08:11 AM

Just was flipping through channels and watched Bart Has A Room. Some 2008 low-key comedy about a kid and his senior prom. Obviously the director was hugely Wes Anderson influenced with how he did the movie.

It's fairly short but served its purpose and had some funny moments. It's been coming on HBO and other channels this month, so if you have 90 minutes to kill there are worse things you can do.

6/10
Like Yellow, an interesting, well-made, if pretentious (almost detrimentally so) film. Mostly interesting as a cultural document than anything.

TheFoxBen 05.30.2010 12:11 PM

9/10. I really loved it, not Apatow's most hilarious movie but certainly his smartest movie. Most people think it's too long but the length wasn't a problem at all for me.

batreleaser 05.30.2010 05:11 PM

"Funny People" had to be one of the most misunderstood films of last year. I literally know two people who don't hate it. But shit, Sandler went off in that flick in a performance that was funny and sad and pathetic and amazing. Eric Bana was great. Eminem's cameo was the best surprise I saw in a film last year.

The length. Waaaay too fucking long. I appreciate that this was a passion project for two long time friends in Apatow and Sandler, but this movie had montages that went on for 7 minutes at a time! They could have cut some of those montage scenes the fuck out.

All and all, great movie I thought.

atsonicpark 05.30.2010 05:27 PM

Yeah, I've been meaning to watch it, but 2 1/2 hours of Sandler seems a bit much..

automatic bzooty 05.30.2010 09:00 PM

the road

my friends and i pretty much spent the whole time talking about how we'd kill ourselves if we lived in this movie.
