And it's called Carter 6? Wow. That's pretty shitty. Not that I've held out much hope for Carter 5. Actually I think I might be pretty much done with Wayne. Still, I have no love for Cash Money.

Looking forward to a proper Young Thug release even so.

then again, let's not forget that Wayne already dropped an album titled 500 Degreez after Juvenile's 400 Degreez.

i feel bad for Wayne, but then again his album is shaping up to be pretty medicore..

and yeah, finally something proper from Thug. exciting right? Tha Tour Pt. 1 was a mixtape for the streets, i liked it a lot but other than "Givenchy" which was insane, i felt like Thug was just having fun.

I'ma gonna say it- I really don't get you guys' love for Lil Wayne. I'd struggle to think of a more over-rated rapper out there next to him. Well tell a lie that goes to Jay-Z. But yeah, Lil Wayne ain't all that.

almost everything from Tha Carter I to No Ceilings was gold.. if his career started after that i wouldn't care for him at all.

louder 04.08.2015 01:49 PM

and you can't call Jay overrated because he's the man who dropped Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint.

louder 04.08.2015 01:53 PM

oh and i almost forgot to say that Lifestyle is still one of the best singles i've heard in the last few years. https://youtube.com/watch?v=nGt_JGHYEO4

*sniffs* yeah I never dug The Blueprint album and I can't comment on Reasonable Doubt. Basically the guy does nothing for me.

yo, i think Tyler might drop his first "serious" album in a while. serious as in only 13 songs, and doesn't feature his non-rapper friends. seems like he finally smartened up.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 04.09.2015 12:07 AM

But what does that have to do with jayz? Also, im not sure tyler CAN ever be serious, he like the bullies in 80s After School Specials, if he gets serious about life or his feelings it would destroy him

louder 04.09.2015 12:31 AM

true, i just meant it might be his first project since Bastard where he actually tries to make a consistent album. Goblin and Wolf are full of great moments but also a lot of filler. we'll see though.

louder 04.09.2015 04:36 AM

new Tyler vid: https://youtube.com/watch?v=SCcVrLcGD7k

brilliant as usual.

rebeccagotcursedout 04.09.2015 06:45 AM

Yes, Lil' Wayne has "crested." He's not turning out to be the kind of rapper he could have been... instead of being one of the all-time greats like Biggie, Pac, Jay, Nas, Kanye, etc. he's made the mistake of overextending himself. Of oversaturating hip hop with his face and his voice and his image and his hair and his releases upon releases, so many of which are not worth anyone's time...

But seriously, Carter I through 3, and all the mixtapes from that legendary era... it's all fucking gold. That was an impressive streak, and for a while there, Weezy was as big as a rapper can get. (in other words, he was as big as Jay-Z has been since around 2000).

BTW: Why can't you speak to Reasonable Doubt? If you can't speak to it because you haven't heard it, then you shouldn't try to speak to Jay-Z. Maybe give it a listen? Who knows, maybe you'll dig something.

Sorry I got fired up, but then I lost the fire. I have no energy and barely finished typing this abominable tirade.

Yeah it's cos I've not heard it. I've done Blueprint, The Black album and Magna Carta and each time I've never really been blown away, and I suspect after three albums that if he hasn't grabbed by then he never will. However, I'll give 'Reasonable' a listen.

RE. new albums coming out this year. I'm struggling to keep up with the stuff coming out at the moment and that's just with the rap stuff, nevermind all the other stuff out there. I still need to give Heems' new album a listen, supposedly Ludacris' album is meant to be pretty good, then there's also Action Bronson (I started listening to it, but got distracted) and so on, and so on.
