This Ex-Mas Rehearsal thing is THE SHIT. Listening to the Purple One run through the song for almost 30 minutes with The Revolution (on the "Another Lonely Christmas [full band]" track), giving the musicians directions and tearing one epic guitar solo after another, all during an authentic lonely Christmas day, was one hell of a sonic experience. And the sound quality is OFF the motherfuckin' CHARTS. Guy was pretty much untouchable back in the day. HBJ, please bring on the rest of your Prince boots!

I've got more, but unfortunately, i have them all scattered around different external hard drives so i would need to take some time to dig them out, but i'll try to post them eventually.

ilduclo: Thanks for sharing. And thanks as well for the good wishes. Hope you too have a nifty 2010.

Thanks a million for this, hipster (and sorry for thanking you so late!). Years ago, back in the day when I couldn't torrent shit because I was on dial-up and my hard drive consisted of 800MB, a friend offered to burn me some boots and sent me a list to pick a few from. I think it included this one, but I passed on it like a goddamn FOOL. Awesome of you to upload it, and thanks also for your recent Barrett and Cash posts.

Line-up for this performance consisted of Jeff Tweedy, Jim O'Rourke, & Glenn Kotche. I guess it would be accurate if you would consider this a very early Loose Fur show if you'd wish. I've seen it listed on etree as a Jeff Tweedy solo show, though.

Besides being wicked sweet, this recording is historically important Wilcowise because after playing with Kotche on this show Tweedy decided he couldn't stick with Ken Coomer anymore. And, of course, it cemented Jeff's relationship with O'Rourke, which would come in handy months later when YHF needed a midwife.

Many thanks!
