Also, if currently making payments on the vehicle your wife drives, ask the Credit Union about combing the two loans......if possible, you may end up paying $100 or more less per month than you do now for the two vehicles.

That sounds solid. I will do so. My wife's car is paid off.

some years ago a friend of mine bought a used lexus for i think that amount-- hardly a POS

i might be mistaken though

any car for under $6,000 comes with no warranty, and no service plan and will likely run another $1500 in repairs every year. Just what happens. There are some good buys out there but I hate cars and the work that it takes to find a quality used vehicle is exhaustin, but worth it I know.

i know, that's what i mentioned stress-- it's not like you had the time and energy to look around. too much shit going down!

anyway, at least you're now free of the vieja, ha ha ha.

Rob.. i know how you feel.. i currently have ZERO debt and ZERO debt history yet my credit sucks because i don't borrow.. so now i have to build it up using my bullshit credit cards and paying the ballance every month

Rob Instigator 06.05.2015 12:09 PM

credit companies = loan sharks

Goddamn Gallery Furniture extended me a $6,000 line of credit to buy furniture two years ago (all PAID OFF!, and EARLY!) and the goddamn Chase could not help me with a car loan? what a crock of shit.

Symbol man probably refers to my purchase in 2008 of a 2001 Lexus ES sedan for $6K, cash. Great car, though it developed expensive problems around its fourth year of service to me.

But, if you're going with used, I recommend Lexus and Toyota. Solid cars, made to last.

Nah, I'm rather proud that at least once in my lifetime I was able to plunk down a wad of cash for a good car.
