I love "Close to Me" it never makes ME sad.

My favorite happy song right now is "Extraordinary" by Mandy Moore

Loves it!

Why are these songs happy? Did they fall in love or win the lottery or something?

Pookie 05.05.2007 11:53 AM

Ivor Cutler also makes me smile.

"I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy,
And I'll punch the man who says I'm not."

Daddylikes 05.05.2007 11:57 AM

They're happy because they're full of hope. A ton of hope!

Another one: "Here comes the sun" by The Beatles (Harrison).

The happiest song I've ever heard.....

Shiny Happy People by REM.

"Open Up Your Heart and Let The Sunshine In"
haha

The song actually was sung by the "Cowboy Sunday School Church Choir" late in 1954. It wasa Top 10 Hit on the Billboard Top 100 (there was no Hot 100 Chart back then) Chart, Billboard Sales SIngles Chart, and Billboard radio Airplay chart. It was a late pre rock and roll hit hitting the top 10 weeks before Rock Around The Clock/Bill haley topped the chart and ushered in Rock and Roll and "Baby Boomer Pop".

Still the chart version was NOT used on the Flintstones. The song was credited to "Pebbles & Bamm Bamm". The version used on the "Flintstones" was in all likelihood sung by staffers at Hanna Barberra's music department. Its probably not known to too many people still alive (most of the staff there back in 1965 is no longer living). Still the song can be found on an audio CD by Rhino "Flintstones Greatest Hits". It was in print back in 1993 and 1994.

John Lennon's Mind Games. The way the whole thing plays like an elongated outro. Euphoric genius.

Now that I'm listening to the CD, it came to mind "Heaps of Sheeps" by Robert Wyatt. Although it is about insomnia, it has a happy mood to it.
